Not so much that he’s a comedian, but the specific comedian he is, I would be much less surprised if say Jon Stewart was in the same position. And I’m not knocking Jimmy it’s just been a really strange journey to get here

Kinda but he’d been dabbling around politics for decades, I remember watching Fox and friends with my super conservative parents when I was in middle and high school and Trump would call in once a week to talk about shit. This is around 2003. Kimmel was always about dick jokes

You’re 100% right, those are our circuses, even your namesake loved football. If the NFL and college football stopped overnight there would be a lot of pissed off poor people with nothing to do on the weekends and nothing to look forward to during the workweek. The rage would boil over much more quickly than most would expect
