Ted Sarandos, a co-chief executive of Netflix, said the Argentinian science fiction series El Eternauta (The Eternaut) was the first it had made that involved using generative AI footage.

He said the series, which follows survivors of a rapid and devastating toxic snowfall, involved Netflix and visual effects (VFX) artists using AI to show a building collapsing in Buenos Aires.

“Using AI-powered tools, they were able to achieve an amazing result with remarkable speed and, in fact, that VFX sequence was completed 10 times faster than it could have been completed with traditional VFX tools and workflows,” he said.

He said the use of AI tools allowed Netflix to fund the show at a much lower cost than is typical for a big-budget production.

“The cost of [the special effects without AI] just wouldn’t have been feasible for a show in that budget,” Sarandos said.

In his first video message since March 6, the spokesperson of Hamas’s military wing Qassam Brigades has said the Palestinian group repeatedly offered to release all captives at once to conclude a comprehensive ceasefire deal, but Israel rejected the proposal.

Abu Obeida said the group would not agree to an interim truce in the future if a ceasefire agreement was not reached and accused Israel of intransigence.

Abu Obeida also said Hamas fighters are “ready to continue a long battle of attrition”.

European stance fuels genocide in Gaza and perpetuates illegal occupation of Palestinian territory (Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor, 2025-07-16)

>> The European Union’s failure to take effective action to halt Israel’s assault on the Gaza Strip represents a blatant breach of its international legal obligations, ... This inaction enables the ongoing crimes against Palestinians, granting Israel de facto impunity and effectively rewarding its actions.

>> “At a time when entire families are being wiped out, dozens of children are killed daily, and a full-scale genocide is being carried out against a defenceless population, the EU’s limited focus on sending food aid to Gaza amounts to a blatant betrayal of humanity and a failure to uphold its legal and moral responsibility ...,” said Lima Bustami, Director of Euro-Med Monitor’s Legal Department.

Lol it's ok, they do things purposefully like that to an extent to get that result. Like if you go to Lemmygrad or Hex's homepage its quite clear you're somewhere weird that needs further investigation.

You go-to lemmy.mls homepage and it looks like a normal "privacy focused" instance. Until you innocently comment in support of Ukraine or something and find yourself being dunked on and banned for supporting a "Nazi regime"

I'm personally banking on them getting Sony OtherOS'd, they've done a fair amount of pissing highly skilled people off

.ml is the "bad actor" in this case for one, and for two, one of those tools is defederation. Nobody is talking about forcing .ml wholly offline.

Grad and hex are perfectly alive even with most of the network defederating from them.

Oh it'd be a job for a top tier professional recovery service, it would be expensive I'm sure, but if we're talking almost a billion....a couple thousand would be nothing lol

You mean on a technical level or on a "It's physically lost forever" level?

Because had he found it, the chances for recovery would have been fairly decent...if he was able to locate it...

@Shieldtoad@sh.itjust.works found a better copy here: https://lemmy.cafe/comment/11815666

Since it seems your account is new, you might not know, but you can edit image links in existing posts in the same way you would edit the body on Lemmy

So you can subout the cropped image with the good one without needing to repost

Usually anything where the BIOS can find and boot Grub itself but Grub can't finish the boot chain for whatever reason, like /boot being on a separate partition and your main partition gets corrupted or something
