The S Group has decided to temporarily stop purchasing products of Israeli origin, while respecting its legal commitments, the mega-retailer tells Yle.

In practice, the S Group product range has only included a small number of such items, as it has not sold fruit or vegetables of Israeli origin for some time.

Some individual products, such as home carbonation devices, will remain available until the current ranges sell out, S Group Chief Sustainability Officer Nina Elomaa told the public broadcaster by email on Wednesday.

The decision was made in September, she said, based on the European Commission proposal to suspend the trade-related parts of the EU-Israel Association Agreement.

The latest US/Israeli plan for Gaza has just been approved by the UN Security Council. Russia and China could have blocked it but chose to abstain. The former senior UN official, Craig Mokhiber, has accurately described it as a ‘colonial outrage.’

It reads like a cut-and-paste job taken from how the British ran East Africa in the 19 century and the French in Algeria, with some input from the extermination of Indian tribes by white settlers in what became the USA.

The ‘stabilization’ of Gaza will rest in the hands of a ‘Board of Peace’ chaired by Donald Trump; other members yet to be named but thought likely to include another genocidalist, Lord Blair of Iraq.

An ‘International Stabilization Force’ will be mobilized to enforce the peace. In truth, this ‘stabilization’ force will be an occupying force and its soldiers legitimate targets for the resistance.

The US had supplied the weapons and political cover for Israel and paid the price when, in April 1983, a suicide bomber sheared the wing off the US embassy in Beirut, killing 63 people. In October, suicide bombers blew up the US and French marine barracks, killing 299 men.

These precedents should make any government think twice about putting the lives of its soldiers at risk to protect the continued occupation and corporatized takeover of Gaza, arranged by the US and Israel.

In addition to Valve contributing to the open-source Radeon Vulkan driver for enhancing the Linux gaming experience and their AMD-powered Steam Deck, the upcoming Steam Frame VR headset is making use of Mesa's open-source "Turnip" Vulkan driver for Qualcomm Adreno graphics.

Linux consulting firm Igalia who has long seen funded work from Valve wrote a blog post today to outline their recent efforts given last week's Steam Machine, Steam Frame, and Steam Controller announcement. Igalia highlighted the work they have been doing for the Steam Frame around FEX for x86/x86_64 emulation on ARM for the Qualcomm Snapdragon powered VR device. Plus the work done to Turnip for serving as the Vulkan driver on the Steam Frame

Back in mid-2024, the Bavarian Linux PC vendor TUXEDO Computers teased plans for developing a Snapdragon X Elite Linux laptop. Initially they hoped to have it out by Christmas 2024. That didn't happen and now approaching Christmas 2025 they confirmed they have stopped their plans for shipping a Snapdragon X1 Elite laptop for Linux customers.

Earlier in 2025 they confirmed various obstacles they had been hitting with the Linux support around the Snapdragon X Elite effort. They did get to posting Linux kernel patches for the Device Tree on their planned laptop. As recently as in early November they posted the latest Linux DT patches for their ARM laptop with the effort appearing to still be ongoing -- even with Snapdragon X2 Elite laptops for Windows on ARM now coming about.
