A new report revealed that Israeli soldiers fired over 900 bullets at a convoy of Palestinian aid workers near Rafah in March 2025, killing 15 medics. Investigators say the evidence reveals the cover-up of a war crime.

Recent comments by United States and Israeli officials supporting the concept of a “Greater Israel” have raised alarm bells across the region and shed light on a vision once only rarely publicly spoken about.

An interview aired last week by the American right-wing podcaster Tucker Carlson with US ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee started the current furore. Carlson, an influential figure who has been vocally critical of Israel over the past year, repeatedly asked Huckabee whether he supported Israel controlling all the land between the Nile River in Egypt and the Euphrates River in Iraq.

Huckabee, a Christian Zionist, would not disavow the belief that the Bible promised that land to Israel – even though it now encompasses all or part of Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia and Syria.

“It would be fine if they took it all,” Huckabee said, leading to anger from those countries and others in the region, many of which are close US allies.

A Palestinian mother from Gaza says she recognised her missing son, Mohammed Sharab, when he was shown shackled, blindfolded and listed as ‘for sale’ in a post shared by Israeli soldiers.

AlmaLinux as one of the leading, modern and community-minded alternatives to Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) continues enjoying very nice growth. In their 2025 Year In Review they provided a look at their growth with now having more than two million systems per week checking in for software updates.

AlmaLinux published their 2025 Year In Review where they recapped their AlmaLinux OS 10.0 / 10.1 and other software releases, adding x86-64-v2 support to AlmaLinux 10, native NVIDIA driver support introduced, Btrfs support in AlmaLinux 10.1, and a range of other technical achievements over the past year.

The Harbour Masters team recently released a big upgrade for SpaghettiKart, their Mario Kart 64 fan-made PC port with a bunch of new features.

Like other PC ports of retro Nintendo games, you need to supply your own copy of the game as they do not supply the assets to actually play the games. Which is how they hope to keep Nintendo lawyers away. With the 1.0.0 release there's a new harder CPU difficulty, improvements to the camera, a better custom track system, performance improvements and much more.

Tails 7.5, a new version of the privacy-focused Linux distro that routes all internet connections through the Tor network, is now available with an upgraded Tor Browser to 15.0.7 and an updated Tor client to 0.4.9.5. Plus, the browser’s home page is now simpler, reducing clutter and improving clarity for users.

Another highlight on this update is that the system now installs the Thunderbird mail client as Additional Software when both the Thunderbird feature and Additional Software are enabled in Persistent Storage.

This adjustment addresses a recurring issue: new Thunderbird releases from Mozilla often arrive soon after a Tails release, leaving users temporarily on an outdated version with known security vulnerabilities.
