That's the goal, though. If people start doing this, the value of used Teslas will crater. That will kill sales of new ones. Why buy a new one when you can get a used one dirt cheap? Why buy a new one if you know it will lose all of its value because the used market died?

Because it's in the public's interest.
I agree. HDD to SSD was a huge leap. NVME was a small, sometimes noticable upgrade. Past that, I can't tell a difference. And it's hard to get excited about the hardware updates when the software can't use it.
I have never once been about to tell a real world difference in SSD speeds. Until OS I/O code improves, faster SSDs don't excite me.
Thieves are opportunists. Not criminal masterminds. No one is doing car sticker recon.
I'm on Aurora. I don't have to use rpm-ostree (bootc in the future). I can use it, but I don't have to. Most of my software needs are covered by flatpak and homebrew. I also don't have to update packages in my distrobox containers. Those are managed for me, too.
I love tinkering with stuff, but updating packages is nothing more than a chore. I'd rather be doing the fun stuff.
The most badass package syntax: never having to use any because you're on an atomic OS.
Cast iron for sure works and I'm pretty sure carbon steel does, too. If a magnet sticks to it, it works.
They are garbage for heat control if you use them the same way you would a gas or induction stove. If you learn how to use one, resistive electric stoves cook just fine.
You like using cheap aluminum pans?
Ok, I'm back from my walk and it didn't help at all. In fact, I'm even madder.
Unfortunately, it would send a message to folks who do things like storm government buildings and kill cops. I wouldn't want one of those deranged lunatics coming after me.
