Needs no introduction in this sub. I'm getting this out just before hitting play.

Discover a vast, haunted kingdom in Hollow Knight: Silksong! Explore, fight and survive as you ascend to the peak of a land ruled by silk and song.

No reviews are out yet, but I really doubt you need one for this.

After six years of near-total silence from the developers and enough feverish anticipation to make it the most wish-listed game on Steam, the sequel to the indie hit Hollow Knight is releasing in two weeks. Team Cherry, the small team behind both games, announced the news Thursday in a trailer.

Why did it take so long?

I think it's safe to say… finally!

Including the original Switch

Discover a vast, haunted kingdom in Hollow Knight: Silksong! The sequel to the award winning action-adventure. Explore, fight and survive as you ascend to the peak of a land ruled by silk and song.

Looks like it could be cool! But I can't find any reviews on this. It seems to be flying under the radar.

I’d love Apollo-level inline video playing.

Keep up the great work!

Yeah, I’ll definitely wait to see the reviews, but the early access feedback is positive, but not glowing. I did see some reviews mention that it didn’t really add much to the genre, but was still fun.

Joss Whedon became a doctor?!?

Aggghhh! Now I don't need to play it… 🤷🏼🫠

And this is just a sample. I think people have cataloged boss animations, etc

😏 If you think this is bad, you should see Deviator. It literally stole sprites from HK.

Those, and for me, Possesor(s) (because I loved their first game, Hyper Light Drifter), and MIO (because if Nintendo showcased it, it’s likely good)

According to folks who played the demo during Steam Next Fest, it was pretty good. 🤞🏻

Happy to participate in a post. I'm also wanting to do a "Best of '24" in a few months.

  1. Hollow Knight
  2. Ori 1
  3. Ori 2
  4. Prince of Persia: Lost Crown
  5. Super Metroid
  6. Nine Sols
  7. Animal Well
  8. BioGun
  9. HAAK
  10. Guacamele 2

4 & 6-8 are from just this year, so it's been a good year for me.

[–] chrisbrummel 2 points 1 year ago

Agreed. I'm working on the Prince of Persia DLC, and then switching to the new Zelda…

[–] chrisbrummel 3 points 1 year ago

I have not. I see it getting decent reviews (80-85%-ish). Between this and other high profile releases, I think it'll be in my backlog
