Ich finde es faszinierend wie beim Thema Vegetarisch und Vegan immer jeder zum Ernährungsexperten wird. Wenn man dann aber fragt wie viele Makro- und Mikronährstoffe man denn so braucht und vor allem wie viele von diesen denn in tierischen Produkten stecken kommt immer ein sehr bestimmtes "Öhhhh".

A few hours ago a fix was merged for this problem. The cause is that when a post from another server was added to the database the rank was not calculated correctly. It should fix itself after a week but I just did a recalculation of of the ranks manually and now hot is finally usable. With version 1.18.0 it should be resolved for good.
For someone who is not in the loop: where could I find what happened. I need some context for this.

But what does that solve? That only puts the burden of paying for storage and bandwidth on the pixelfed instances.
Yes you have to build your subscriptions manually but it's not too bad. The comments are pretty fast. And as long as the other instance doesn't have a whitelist you don't have a problem if they don't blacklist you.

That's why I have my own instance. As long as I don't annoy anyone and get defeferated I can see everything.
War auch eher als Scherz gemeint. Mir ist das klar, dass nicht jeder seinen eigenen Server Holsten kann und will. Ich mags aber hier bei mir. Wenn mich keiner defederiert brauche ich mir keine Sorgen zu machen dass, wenn ein admin entscheidet dass eine andere Instanz blöd ist und die defederiert (siehe beehaw).
If you create a new instance nobody knows about you until you start interacting with other instances by for example subscribing to a community. This builds the link.
Die FDP vertritt ja leider einen großen Teil der Bevölkerung die z.B. das Heizungsgesetz nicht wollen. Wenn man den Klimaforschern glaubt, dann weiß man natürlich, dass wir ohne starke Einschnitte nichts erreichen können, aber es gibt leider genug Menschen die entweder der Meinung sind, dass das nicht so schlimm ist, oder die Hoffnung haben, dass da noch ein Deus Ex Machina kommt, der uns davor rettet unser Leben anpassen zu müssen. Die FDP ist ja eher auf der Seite Deus Ex Machina wie mir vorkommt.
