I mean, I only drink water, but I still want a holder for it.

I mean, I'm vocal to family and friends about stuff like this. I don't see the point in fighting strangers over it and I don't go out looking for strangers to talk to, but I've definitely said stuff to coworkers when I think the joke is going to far, basically a "hey, why don't we just drop this subject" type thing.

Still you're right I'd not really get into it unless they keep doing it.

Edit though the thing I've probably defended the most to my friends (because they aren't assholes who do racists or even really generational complaints like this) has been furry hate bandwagoning. While, like every group of people, there are problematic furries, most of them are just isolated people finding people they can identify with, who can comfort each other. No need to hate em for a fetish/role play if they aren't actually harming anyone or any animals. I'm not even sure I've heard of a self proclaimed furry who actually practiced beastiality instead of just fursonas etc, but rules of the universe say there has to be at least one.

I don't have any significant love for it, but some make me smirk, some don't. I never got the effort you people complaining put into it though. I'm not interested in sports posts, so I just filter them. If I see dumb memes, I scroll past. It takes more effort to whine.

Look, we've never seen someone try to get out of trial so much they get a default judgement in two different states, causing them a judgement of ~1.5 billion dollars. They certainly didn't have a lawyer who thinks dropping his pants and saying the nword is a funny standuo bit, and no one has told him Grape Job Norm.

Said lawyer also didn't decide to defend Proud Boys and lose said case as well. So not following the rules and doing whatever you think is established precedence that works, imo.

Megaman owned Rockman way before Dwayne. Rocky Johnson however....

Wait, I usually stay out of this as I lack the desire to defend a lot of stuff, but I've never met someone who liked mentioned ever liking Dick Chaney, even when I'm hearing about fascists (I listen to a podcast debunking Alex Jones, and since they play his stuff to fairly take him down and sometimes delve into others like him, I hear a bunch of right wing talk. Still cant remember even them liking Chaney.) This something new? It sounds like liking Kissinger. Doesn't everyone hate that guy?

There are two security cameras in my current place (though both inactive). The person I replaced for my roommates had a falling out with them and trashed the place when they wouldn't let him break the lease(a lease he insisted on being longer).

So they had one in the kitchen that basically captures the kitchen and livingroom all the way to front door, and another pointed at my door in the hallway.

Two places before that, the house owner had one for the main entrance inside, a few more for kitchen and livingroom inside, and at least 2 outside.

It's pretty normal for some people.

I also worked with someone years ago who was paranoid about home invasions and didn't like the people his girlfriend's daughters were seeing, claiming they were gang members etc. He showed me his feed to see inside his own house when he was at work.

So tl;dr: lots of plausible reasons, why do you find it so hard to believe?

I tend to just note it in my head when I hear something casually dropped. I'm a type of person who is fine both not having a conversation but will engage sincerely if one is had at me. I went into a Lyft on the way to Dragoncon one year and saw a note that the driver was hiring impaired and would not communicate verbally.

"Cool, I'll just listen to music and/or read."

Then the driver started talking to me, and we had nice conversation about cons, nerd stuff, etc. He mentioned his boyfriend in a sentence but not really about his boyfriend, and all it really put in my mind is he probably had that sign up for people who could be problematic to talk about that stuff. I think I was maybe a little proud that he felt comfortable doing so so casually with me, but it otherwise didn't affect the convo in any significant way, nor did I feel any need to comment on it with him. Just some internal thoughts.

Behind the Bastards did a 2 parter on it, and iirc one of the guys who caused airline problems in the 2000s went on to rental real estate after not getting punished enough in that fiasco.

Not sure, I've never watched him. I don't really watch late shows that much lately, but I've enjoyed content from Last Week Tonight, Seth, Colbert, Jon Stewart when he was host of Daiky Show, and yes, Trevor Noah's show roo (I've heard people lambasting him as being Neoliberal, which probably is true, but I liked how they had some angles based on black people. Same with Seth's jokes Seth can't tell for black and lesbian stuff). Of those I probably liked Last Week Tonight the most.

The others can be charming sometimes even in ways that's not inherently funny, but more like hamming it up (Colbert and Seth).

I've never found a clip of Fallon that made me want to watch.

So, one instance is the whole thing? Do you even understand how lemmy, and federation, works? There are literally instances fighting and banning each other.
