Sometimes stories are like food. I can enjoy a finely crafted meal and it is very delicious. Sometimes though... junk food and unhealthy stuff just calls to you. You enjoy it for a bit but afterwards you admire it wasn't that great.

Some games, some manga, and some manhua especially fall under junk food for me, but I of course like reading full novels and the like too.

I'd say the first things I've seen with the concept were probably stuff like Neverending Story, Peter Pan, Alice in Wonderland, and possibly random cartoons long before that.

For Anime, Fushigi Yugi and Escaflowne I both saw before SAO. Maybe Dual! Parallel Trouble too.

I tend to count stuff like .Hack and SAO as VR not isekai myself, as your body doesn't really get stronger in the real world, and usually your life in the real world isn't as affected either. For the ones who have that pining for a real adventure, I prefer permanent changes to "it was all a dream or might as well have been because their are no material changes."

Huh. Turns out I use most of my games as toys, not games. I rarely finish games, usually getting a lot of stuff done, high leveled, etc, then just enjoying it until I decide ro start over. I also regularly go back to games like Ark, 7 days, City Skylines, Civ VI(but often strip out ein conditions so I can keep playing), FFXIV, etc.

Sure I make short term goals that I complete, but usually not done everything and complete story to win unless doing so gives me something else to do, like New Game+.

Generally only if something else prompts it. Such as this meme and the news around it, or a game, or a work of fiction referencing it for some reason. It doesn't come up independently in my head.

Shifty eyes, or someone avoiding eye contact: similar to the monkey looking at you then away uncomfortably meme.

Roma aren't bad either, texturewise anyway. I generally us em for fresh salsa though. Grape and cherry for eating I agree are the best.

I'm generally the opposite. Pico is fresh enough, as is salsa, and some tomato sauces are fine, but I prefer fresh and firm.

Check out his Behind the Bastards episode. I'll pass on giving him a pass.

Side 1: I want to be myself and be allowed to be happy
Side 2: Fuck you, die, and go to hell

You: man, can't you guys just get along?

Wait, rice and beans isn't fun? It requires some extra seasonings but Carrib style rice and peas are my jam. Though it does have a Lotta aromatics.
