While I didn't downvote nor did it bother me much, making jokes on topics that enrage or trigger people is bound to have at least some negative reaction. This is about a woman arrested and almost sent to prison because something that has a percentage of always occurring happened to her, and terrible people want to punish her. It's scary.
Ahmad Arbery case scared me because I'm black, live in GA (literally lived in White GA at the time, down the street from a lumbermill with Confederate and MAGA flags), and do like exploring, especially if walking. I had seen people with Confederate flags on trucks giving me what appeared to be hard looks (but who knows, maybe just resting bitchface).
I know some people use humor around hard topics to cope, but it can easily feel like our quite concrete fears are being joked away dismissively.
Yep. I detest it. Biggest personal examples in my nerdy life I can think of: Mara Jade, and the main female leaders from the first Borne movie. Example 1 I love Mara Jade in Timothy Zahn's work and honestly have very little experience with her outside of it, while the second is just a set of movies where this stood out to me.
Happens to anyone really. You cut out bad food your body has been tolerating and it stops tolerating. (I'm not vegan, but milk based stuff, fatty foods, fast food, and a bunch of other shitty for me stuff stopped being acceptable to my body once I stopped eating them regularly. Unfortunately I also suddenly go5 super reactive to eggs, and I love eggs. No more delicious yolk for me T_T)
Second note: ( I don't actually have any issues with vegans. I think ultimately they are probably correct, but I still eat meat anyway, just as I also post this response on a Samsung cell phone that probably had slave labor involved in some part of its production).
I'm not sure, but these two things may be part of it:
- They think being sigma means you're out of the whole hierarchy. You're a noble lone sole, above all this alpha and beta stuff (so just lone wolf renamed)
- In Anime and some other similar media, including some games, the scale is S at top, then A, B, C, D, E, F, etc. S-rank is better than A, and is usually only surpassed by more Ss(SS rank, SSS Rank, etc). Sometimes there's stuff like U rank etc.
