I got beat regularly, and my stepfather at the time used to do stuff like make me wait in the basement for 30 mins, then he'd slowly walk down the stairs with his belt unbuckled so we could hear the jingling in each step, then he'd tell us some scriptures and say this hurt him more than us.

Then if you cried right away it was faking, but if you held on too long it was you being rebellious and stubborn, so my brother and I learned to start faking our cries after the 6th or 7th hit.

I told that to friends as an adult as what I thought was a kinda funny story, and they properly realized I was abused in a somewhat sadistic way and pointed it out to me.

They weren't calling me out for having a different environment, they were correcting my incorrect belief that it was normal or acceptable.

People are doing the same for you. You made it out safely, but giving unstable teens access to guns is definitely a risk that probably shouldn't be taken. Survivor bias isn't an excuse to say it's fine.

You know how it's crass and rude to drink in front of a recovering alcoholic, or to bring up traumatic triggers to people who are suffering PTSD(like say using a firecracker around a veteran). To people afraid of issues caused by gun ownership, there was no need to flash the gun to get his point across. It comes off as more of either a threat, or a total disinterest in treating the other side with respect.

Well it's mostly for show.

As a person who had to troubleshoot connections, I even have that first major repeat tone memorized. If it didn't come through, I knew something was up.

Printed media has always been huge for conspiracy nuts before the internet, and plenty of them still make books. John Birch Society, Soilder of Fortune magazine, and plenty of terrible tax evasion and antivax books abound even now.

Oh, I naturally have to sleep on my side, as front and back are both uncomfortable (for back my ass is a bit too big to not make my lower back feel odd). I sometimes have issues with digestion/acid reflux, so maybe I instinctively sleep left side? I noticed I kept going left instead of right.

I got hit in the eye (long story short, my cousin learned to throw cards like Gambit and nailed me straight in the eye).

I was seeing flashes so went to an eye doctor, and they warned me of retinal detachment. Aside from the flashes, a sudden increase in floaters is another warning sign.

Plus, if we look at times when they didn't cancel when they should have, we get things like Challenger exploding on live TV.

Yeah, all the EVs being SUVs and or nor having the most common chargers are my reasons to not look to replace yet. I have a 2015 Leaf with honestly terrible range, but it's in range of most things I do.

I've met a bunch. Usually takes a while to find out they're vegan. Aside from maybe having something in their cubicle, I've never found em to be preachy or anything. Honestly I've only experienced harsh vegan kickback online.

Well, it did say harmless. Mosquitoes cause more than 700000 deaths per year.
