I like it! I’m only a hobbyist programmer, but I’m 100% guilty of this.

Sure. It depends on the work. I only reference the quote when it is applicable.

These aren’t necessarily my favorite quotes, but they are the two I find myself referencing almost daily in my work life.

“We never seem to have the time to do it right, yet we always seem to find the time to do it twice.”

“You can save hours of planning with weeks of work.”

I was lucky to see her before she was St. Vincent, when she was going by just her name, Annie Clark. She was playing a show outside of Boston with a friend’s band. I’m not to proud to admit, in my very ignorant and problematic youth, when I saw her get on the tiny stage I was certain I’d be rolling my eyes at another Lisa Loeb / Jewel singer songwriter type thing. Then she completely melted my face off with the most interesting guitar work and captivating songs I had seen at that club. I learned a lesson that day (in the best possible way) about being a stupid young boy.

When I purchased my first woodworking equipment, I was thinking much more like an engineer than a craftsman. I pretty quickly found that wood is a fairly forgiving material, and being off by a few thousandths on a table saw isn’t usually a big deal. But, it depends on what you’re building and what other tools you have.

I’ll make this more extreme as a means of illustrating the point everyone else seems to be trying to get across…

Russia is a nation full of parents who love their children, artists and musicians creating interesting and new art, and rebels developing creative and novel approaches for resisting their fascist government. But, when people say that “Russia sucks”, those aren’t the reasons.

Searching within a community is the #1 feature I’ve been waiting on! Very glad to see it here.

Don’t — talk — about — Usenet!

Guys… you’re all breaking the first two rules of Usenet…

You're seeing the classic challenge of pricing, if you sell 10 copies at $30 would you sell 20 at $15 and make the same off it? You can't tell without lowering the price, and once you do that, going back up if it doesn't work will make people angry. Sales can help gauge this if you aren't feeling confident.

This is what I don’t see enough people discussing here. Many are saying they are interested in purchasing a lifetime “pay once” option, but not for $30 (I’m one of them). I would 100% buy the lifetime option for $15. How many others would? More than twice the amount willing to pay $30? I wouldn’t be surprised if that were the case.

I can’t think of any problems I’ve faced in over 3 years. I have an app on my phone that I can use to temporarily disable my Pi-hole if I need to do some testing, but I don’t know if I’ve ever had a situation where the Pi-hole was the source of a problem. Definitely not a maintenance headache. I run an update on it every now and then, but only because I see a notification that there is one, not because there’s something going wrong.
