Lee had attacked the Union's northern and southern flanks and were repelled. So Lee thought Meade had heavily fortified his flanks and left his center weak. Instead, the north barely held onto its flanks and was using the center to hold all of its reserves. The Northern defense of the southern flank is legendary: a downhill sweeping charge by the very last standing regiment at the very end of the flank saved the day. See "little round top" for more.

That said, anyone could just look at the field in the center and conclude any assault was suicide but southern chivalry was in full swing.

True that its better that Putin beats Wagner than the other way around. But what does "support" mean here beyond pointing out that lone fact? Russian anarchists and communists aren't going to commit any material support for Putin and probably shouldn't. So why confuse the public?

No tech project is going to build socialism. Many Occupy Wall street era people tried it and it went no where. That said, in the course of building a socialist movement IRL, you'll find having tech skills are occaisonally useful, either to have an online presence like a website or to automate tedious computer work.

  • deploy a static site with github or gitlab pages
  • DNS management.
  • manage a linux cloud VM. ssh and bash etc.
  • deploy services to a VM with docker-compose. Eg self host wordpress
  • Processing datasets like membership lists. VBA, python, R etc.
  • web scraping whatever data you'll need.

I cannot emphasize this enough, the less code the better. Keep project small and tight. Try to leverage existing functionality as much as possible.

If avoiding typing extra characters is high on your list of priorities for a language then you need more experience programming. Higher priorities should revolve around ensuring the code you write works.

JavaScript is not owned by Oracle, that's Java, which has nothing to do with JavaScript besides curly braces. JavaScript has no license. There is a public reference spec and various (sometimes conflicting) implentations of an interpreter.

Despite official releases of java being proprietary, there are always compatible releases of OpenJDk which are GPLv2

Google doesn't own Go either, some ex-google engineers did start it but its BSD license.

Passing arguments in static typed language are a pain 😩

:warf-wtf: are you using different types for the same arguements? This is a first class way to break your program. Good python development is constantly manually checking for programmer error as though it was user error. Static languages just do that for you.

  • aesthetics
  • aesthetics
  • defect
  • JavaScript does the same with better package management.
  • same with much other languages, JavaScript, cargo, rust, go, etc.
  • in what languages is this a problem?
  • worst class implementation still in use (close second, C++)

This sounds incredibly similar to the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series minus the external political factions.
