No, it took a while to get really bad. It was always right leaning and not great reporting but it wasn't until the success of Bill O'Reilly in the oughts that it went completely off the rails. If you haven't seen it you should watch John Stewart on Crossfire.Crossfire was Tucker Carlson's first big show back when Fox was first starting to get really bad and was competing with Comedy Central instead of other news organizations. Stewart killed the show in one interview. How? By telling them that they were hurting America and asking them to stop.

Humans don't really have structural carbs. I think we're a salad.

The Appalachian Mountains began forming approximately 1.5 billion years ago. About the same time that sea animals were first evolving bones. The carbon that became the coal under them was deposited approximately 300 million years ago when they formed the central continental divide of the Pangea supercontinent. That was when they were at their highest, estimated to have been about the same height as the modern Alps.

Did a quick search, in higher doses stevia may cause mutagenic effects and regulatory bodies initially classified it as safe over the objections of some researchers who say it needs more studies on this effect. Stevia also lowers blood pressure and can cause light headedness and fainting in larger doses. The effect on blood pressure is potentially fatal in small children and people with certain health complications.

In less refined forms stevia also carries a high risk of allergic reactions because it's a form of ragweed but the stuff used as a dietary sweetener is highly refined so that shouldn't effect the recommended limit.

Aspartame's patents expired between the late 80's and early 90's. Current limits were set after that and have been reviewed as recently as 2024. I'm going to say that the ability to patent and monopolize aren't really a factor since aspartame hasn't been protected in over 30 years and a search to see who produces it returned an article listing the top 100 manufacturers of aspartame.

That wouldn't have been better. Wesley wasn't a great character but neither was Yar and her departure made way for Worf to become main cast. So Yar leaving was better for the show and it was better for the production because Yar was killed off after Denise Crosby asked to leave the show.

Let's be a little more granular here. Increased production efficiency is good. If we could legitimately just have everyone take turns working five minutes a week and provide for all of humanity that would be great. The problem is how the benefits of increased productivity are distributed. If worker's pay started at a reasonable livable wage and increased along with their productivity the world would be in a much different situation now. If we had a UBI scheme that allowed everyone to have a minimum acceptable standard of living automation would be much more desirable.

By any reasonable moral system God is unjust in punishing them for eating from the tree. They couldn't be culpable for their transgression because they didn't have knowledge of good and evil prior to eating from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Without that knowledge they were incapable of making an ethical decision. The Garden of Eden, like many of the stories in the old testament isn't a story of the failure of man, it's a story of the failure of God.

Ok, here's the plan. No legislation needed and the courts can't stop it. Alright, we divide the population of New York City into ten parts. The first part stays in the city to keep New York state. The other nine parts each move to the nine least populated states. We might have to put together some sub plans for the nine states so that we can pick up house seats along with the Senate seats.

No worries, foreign universities and governments are happily trying to outdo each other to hire as many American scientists as possible. That's not going to be a problem for America in the future right? I mean it's not like America's technological advancements since WW2 were frequently dependant on its ability to recruit foreign scientists or anything right?

If they're under the justification of the US does that mean that they are entitled to the same rights and protections as prisoners still held in the US? Prisoners in the US have a right to be protected from physical and sexual violence, to medical care, they have limited first amendment rights and a right to communicate with their families in most circumstances. Prison overcrowding has been ruled to violate prisoners 8th amendment rights multiple times.
