What seems to be happening is that your post is being sorted incorrectly in the default "hot" view. This was also happening when I first joined kbin, albeit without the error page when posting. Your "logged out" image shows the "newest" sort order, however.

The workaround is to immediately go back to the magazine's main page after posting and switch to the "newest" sort order. Your post should then show up at the top. Upvote your own post, and then it should appear correctly at or near the top of the default "hot" view.

It sounds like you might be having some overlapping issues. Since the "error on post" thing started happening, I've noticed that new posts won't show up in the default "hot" ordering. I assume that this is a sorting bug and they show up at the bottom of it. This was also happening when I first joined kbin, although the error page on post thing wasn't happening then.

The workaround seems to be to go back to the magazine's main page after posting, and sort by "new". Your post should then show up at the top. Upvote your own post, and then when you go back to the default "hot" ordering it should show up at or near the top, as normal.

Hopefully this fixes at least one of those issues. Good luck with everything.

It's not "the official futurology instance", it's "the official r/futurology instance":

This is a sibling community to r/futurology on Reddit, set up and moderated by the same people.

There might just be a lag on it? When I changed the sidebar on my magazine a few days ago it didn't change on the lemmy side. Just checked back now and it's updated.

Kbin apparently federates upvotes but not downvotes. I guess it's an attempt to be polite? Kinda frustrating though.

Yep, or at the very least it's highly attractive to bigots. Let's just not, ya know?

That one poster the other day was right: unpopularopinion is cancer and needs to be nuked.

Kbin doesn't actually have a feature for blocking instances. What you blocked is the lemmy.world domain, which means posts that count as links to lemmy.world will be blocked. That behavior is also fairly inconsistent.

Nah, that's not how it went down. Cats are such weirdos because they domesticated themselves instead of being domesticated by humans, and because they're descended from a small species of wild cat that was both a predator species and a prey species.

Dogs and other domestic animals we molded to suit our purposes, but cats just kind of... showed up. The only selection pressure on them was "tolerate humans just enough to get at the rats in the humans' granaries". If anything, they domesticated us. Their meowing behavior is an attempt to mimic the cries of human babies.
