I think Piefed is pretty great for following Peertube channels.
Here's a somewhat general peertube feed, so you can see the UI: https://piefed.social/f/peertube

Thanks for fixing it! Much better now 🇳🇱
A true Brexiteer would never admit defeat by seeking to re-enter European jurisdiction.
Either that, or it's made by a tankie.
Anibus is used by some instances, such as 50501.chat.
It can be a bit slow and frustrating, but better than closing down access completely I suppose.
There's no real difference, content flows freely between the two platforms.
I'm writing this in piefed - does it make my comment "piefed content", while your comment is "Lemmy content"?
The distinction makes no sense. And that's the point - use whatever platform you prefer, enjoy the same content anywhere you go. There is no "piefed content" or "lemmy content", only content. :)
You could check out another instance, for example https://feddit.online/ , which is visible without signing in.
Piefed.social used to be open for all, but I suspect it needed to be restricted due to AI scrapers. Not sure exactly what the reasoning is though.
You can find a list of instances here: https://fedidb.com/software/piefed
I just checked a random Mastodon post with no image in it but plenty of comments, one of which has an image attached. 38 KB. This thread loaded in PieFed is 12 KB. A random article at @404media@flipboard.com is 49 KB.
The internet at large is pretty fucked, but I'm pretty sure most of the sites I actually use haven't been this small in almost two decades.
I don't trust anything with a HQ in America any more. I guess I lack the imagination to imagine it being a good idea.
In my experience it does not draw on very long periods of data, so most of the time I will be at 100%, then if I spot bad content it'll drop significantly. Nothing really to worry about at all.
Mexico is not one place, it is many places. Yucatán has lower homicide rates than Wyoming.
I wonder where you think the cartels gets their weapons from. Mexico has strict gun laws. Or their money - it doesn't just spawn out of nowhere. Parts of Mexico are dangerous because they are part of an illegal trade route to the US, fuelled by American weapons and American money, and that is that.
Must be easy to get confused when you can only have one thought in your head at a time, and barely even that.
Ah, sorry, I didn't realize it was for using the app.
Then I don't know unfortunately - I'm not signed in to the app myself. Hopefully one day it'll be possible to sign in there with other fediverse accounts in order to subscribe and leave comments/likes, but not now. :)
