Could also be two separate things? I have a) dumped Windows and b) installed Lineage.

We're outsourcing thinking to a bullshit generator controlled by mostly American mega-corporations who have repeatedly demonstrated that they want to do us harm, burning through scarce resources and rendering creative humans robbed and unemployed in the process.

What's not to hate.

Yeah, I think these are good priorities, and PieFed.social seems like a pretty reliable new home. I'm obviously a fan, considering that I've been using it since the start. :)

Peer to peer, hence the name. :)

Pretty disappointing stuff, especially concerning the potential for joystick drift and the gluing of the battery. If they haven't fixed drift I think I have no choice but to skip this generation.

Is this supposed to be Old Major (Marx/Lenin) and Snowball (Trotsky) in conversation, and Napoleon (Stalin) injecting himself?

I'm a bit sceptical for now. I don't remember this scene from the book, and I don't feel like I see the characters as I remember them here. I thought Old Major pretty much stuck with his principles until the end, and things turned to shit only after his death? Alternatively, if the adult pig in the trailer is Napoleon, are the piglets just random partisans who had no role in the book?

The film is directed by Andy Serkis, aka Gollum, so that's interesting I guess.

"No bigotry" could potentially be added under rule 1, but I think I agree that the way the rule is formulated leaves very little room for it already.

No [...] self-promotion without permission

Does this include posting original content like art and blog posts? Seems a bit too wide.

Genocide denial or minimization, such as denying or justifying atrocities in Gaza, Xinjiang, Ukraine, or elsewhere.

Love it.

Don’t post anything that could cause legal trouble for PieFed, piefed.social or the people involved.

This should maybe specify which jurisdiction PieFed is under to make it more transparant. Rule 3 could itself cause legal trouble in some countries.

If you want to stay on Lemmy, maybe europe.pub could be an alternative? Could be nice to be on a Europe-oriented instance.

I like PieFed a lot, but I'm not sure if there are any distinctly European instances out there. PieFed.social is run by a kiwi, which I have no issue with whatsoever.

It is 2025, and the KDE project is still using the glory of the desktop cube to appeal to Windows users.

The desktop cube has been our single most powerful tool on the path to world domination.

Same. If FP6 has a smaller form factor and an amazing camera I will be very annoyed.

But in the US the genocide was largely carried out by random people shooting folks for fun from their train wagons, in Israel it's carried out by the professionally organized army of an allegedly democratic nation. Very different.

Even when the US army was directly involved (no small degree, especially if you don't accept Native American warriors as military targets), its actions were not driven by Democratic institutions. Sure, people voted for leaders who supported genocide, but the genocide was not the direct result of democratic institutions malfunctioning. In Israel it is.
