I had wired Ethernet in my whole house. Feeling like a complete dunce at having to give 3 tries for each termination. Before realizing two years later that i was red-green colorblind.

After that diagnosis i felt so fucking validated.

If there was just my cat? I'd just get a hoodie on and pretend to start studying. The cat that climbs my back and snuggles up into the hood is mine.

If my dog is also there? I'd just say "where's the cat?" In my dialect. My dog would just waltz over to the cat and sit on them. Or just point at them like he does with quails (hunting dog) if he can't reach her.

Safety? England

But personally. Type L is beautiful because is so modular. You just get different fruits for different needs. Need an etheret keystone. Get one an plop it in istead of a blanking plate. Need an extra switch? Same thing. All with the same faceplate for any possible combination.

One of my friends has ADHD and has described it to me as:" like having a GLA motor on a smart. And the clutch is completely worn out. It may rev high. But we're getting nowhere" Not sure how correct of an explanation it was. But it was a woderful metaphor.

I've changed the bushings on my fan (industrial fan from ~ 1980) already 3 times in it's service life. And regreased it each season. If it dares to die i'll go and pull it back fom hell myself. Modern stuff can't hold a candle to that monster.

Ok. That's perfect. The only real impediment to the gpu fans is going to be a layer of mosquito screen to make less dust come through. the sides will be blocked by the case i'm building or it. And downwards other than through the psu the air can also go through the hole i've cut to let the riser through, allowing it to go through the empty side of the chassis as well. So it should be pretty mutch a straight pipe flow wise.

I was a bit wary because the only thing i've really built cooling paths for were transformers from welding machines. And those might as well be heaters.

Thanks for the info.

I'm not talking about extra case fans. I'm talking about the fans integrated in the gpu. + the integrated fan in the psu I can't really flip those. The most i can do is put another fan in the side of the space between the gpu and the psu to draw air outwards.

I'm hacking together a gaming/fluid simulation pc from a lenovo thinkcentre m700 sff. I've already got everything set up. The problem is that the only riser i managed to find has a 90° bend to the left. (Looking from where the bracket would be.) The problem is that like this my only way to make it fit is to turn the 3060 fans up. With the extra psu powering it under it. With ~7 cm of clearance. (i'll make some stands to hold it properly) What i'm not sure is if it's going to make a big difference that it's going to push hot air downwards. The power supply fan runs continuously and it draws air downwards and out of the back. But i don't know if it will be enough.

What do you think. Is it going to make it get hotter a lot?

I did get music for free. But at the time internet was barely a concept were i lived (rural city in bumfuck nowhere) so my setup for getting free music was recording it from the radio to a cassette and then digitize it on a freak in-bay tape deck on my uncle's pc. So i could load it on a nomad jukebox i had somehow found for cheap at a flea market. (And no. I wasn't smart enough to plug the nomad straight into the radio and record)

I miss that hackery. I don't miss the abysmal audio quality

the name was born as a joke from my multilingual aunt and got deformed to hell by us not really knowing what it meant other than her vague explanation. It was most likely a longer word that got truncated into something more pronounceable in my native language, so it's not too out of the question that it lost a lot of meaning in the process. Though "little brush" also fit well with how bristly his fur was. So he may have gotten off better than we originally intended :-P.

We currently have a female cat. We called her sky. Beforehand we had a male cat, all white with a black head. We called him yorshik. Which i'm quite sure it's a corruption of the russian for toilet brush... Poor thing.

If bat and ding are patterned/spotted. Then the dingbat joke kind of fits. (Dingbat characters are characters used in printing, that instead of being letters are ornamental pictograms, which from a far look like ink spots most of the time. i swear i remember there being long, whispy characters made as edge fillers, but i can't find them anywhere.)

By experience, social anxiety works too.

I have an unused dell optiplex 7010 i wanted to use as a base for an interference rig.

My idea was to get a 3060, a pci riser and 500w power supply just for the gpu. Mechanically speaking i had the idea of making a backpack of sorts on the side panel, to fit both the gpu and the extra power supply since unfortunately it's an sff machine.

What's making me weary of going through is the specs of the 7010 itself: it's a ddr3 system with a 3rd gen i7-3770. I have the feeling that as soon as it ends up offloading some of the model into system ram is going to slow down to a crawl. (Using koboldcpp, if that matters.)

Do you think it's even worth going through?

Edit: i may have found a thinkcenter that uses ddr4 and that i can buy if i manage to sell the 7010. Though i still don't know if it will be good enough.

I was experimenting with oobabooga trying to run this model but due to it's size it wasn't going to fit in ram, so i tried to quantize it using llama.cpp, and that worked, but due to the gguf format it was only running on the cpu. searching for ways to quantize the model while keeping it in safetensors returned nothing; so is there any way to do that?

I'm sorry if this is a stupid question, i still know almost nothing of this field

I've been trying to install rocm on the deck following this guide

with the only exception that i used a generic ubuntu container on podman instead of using distrobox; I reach to the point where i need to use amdgpu-install to run rocm, but when i do it tries to install 30gb of files; which unfortunately it's not feasible on my metered connection and storage (╥﹏╥). From what i saw from this issue on github there should be a way to select only the needed binaries for the specific chipset;

The question is, what should i do to install only the stuff necessary for the deck?

Sorry for the long post.

I remember seeing on the steam deck community someone mentioning a patch that reduced the size of the assets and, consequentially, the size of the whole game; does it actually exist or did i just hallucinate it?

When android auto first came out i remember that on the market appeared android sticks that were meant to expand the functionality of android auto. They where like the android auto wireless adaptors that are around nowdays but where a standalone android device that used a phone's hotspot for an internet connection. Are these sticks still around or are they completely gone?

I've set my sd cards to mount to a folder in my home directory and pointed the default installation folder of lutris to that directory, so when i swap cards lutris reads the games that i have on it, but now every game has a d: drive that points to that folder, when i try to change the path to a folder placed a level deeper or when i try to remove that drive entirely, after i close and reopen the wine configuration panel it reappears. Is there any way to prevent lutris from changing it back? I have the same setup on my laptop with linux mint and the same version of lutris and it doesn't happen, so I'm at a loss about what could be the problem.

The only one that know is obtainium, but from what i understood it only fetches the latest version of an app and it doesn't even check if it gets installed correctly.

I'm also i'm concerned about the safety of the apks; i know that trusting the f droid repo isn't any safer than trusting the builds from the dev, but it would be nice to know if there is any way to check other than checking the code by hand.

inizialmente quando dovevo cercare qualcosa di particolare, se non mettevo reddit alla fine della ricerca google mi mostrava risultati inconcludenti, ora che i subreddit stanno chiudendo è diventato difficile trovare delle risposte effettive 😅
