Can you just drop to assembly for what you want to do? Gnu compilers even have inline assembly, but with any compiler you should at least be able to built a separate, assembly, object file.

Larger halls doesn't necessarily mean larger class sizes. I believe UniSA uses amalgamated exam halls; they fill the same hall to capacity with whatever classes have an examination requirement.
They have a greater than 100% Coefficient of Performance, which is often marketed as efficiency in heat pumps. Their efficiency is bounded between 0 and 1 like every other physical system.
