In Australia when you pay your land rates it tells you where your money goes. Information about where your income tax goes is available online. Your country is no doubt the same, you just haven't looked.

Australian homes don't typically have attics (just roof space, not designed for storage or living space) and most don't have crawl spaces either.

Or, 'hoses down easily'...

There's no 'love' for Meta, most people don't think in those terms. It's just that their platforms are in heavy use in many countries and you tend to use the method most common to people in your circle.

My older friends and family use Messenger and SMS, my similarly aged peers use WhatsApp, and my work colleagues use Signal. So I correspond across all these. I know the benefits and pitfalls of each but I can't influence the established communication choices of others. The only people i know who use Telegram are racist nutjobs.

I feel similar. I'm good at my profession (very white collar) and have managed to start my own business based on a good reputation in the industry, solid outcomes etc. I'm pretty good with my hands and troubleshooting so I'm handy in a crisis, good at solving problems. I read a lot about lots of different things, I listen to a lot of different music so I'm a good person to have on your trivia team. I've kept pretty fit into my late 30s so I'm up for any exercise or going for long rambling adventures.

But am I great, beyond my peers at any one particular thing? God no. And it bothers me. I wish I was really, really, really good at any one thing to the point someone would call me an expert, but I'm just not. I don't have the energy, interest or focus to dedicate to one thing, so I'm just 'okay' to 'pretty good' at a tonne of things, but not necessarily better than any one person in the room.

I was about to joke that it's just to prevent people in wheelchairs. I need to get more sleep.

Actually breaks my heart.

I've seen an uptick in pointless real estate photos on listings for genuinely nice properties. Close ups of vases, chairs next to windows, native flowers in the backyard (which are representative of the entire city I live in, so not exactly a unique characteristic), tightly framed photos of the owner's dog looking cute on outdoor furniture, maggie strutting around the lawn. 15 of 30 photos will be like this and I think, if you're not giving me the vase or the dog or the furniture, (I assume the local flaura and fauna comes included) then stop wasting my time with photos.

I get that it's meant to convey the lifestyle you can have if you buy the property, but a wider shot of the patio is going to do that better than a close up of a dog I don't have, on furniture I don't own.

I have to assume it's indulgent behaviour from the photographer who just wants more shots for their portfolio.

Thanks for the suggestion but this seems a cumbersome alternative. My work is in the digital space and note taking needs to be there in a fairly rapid and shareable way. I'm seeking an improvement to my onenote use (handy but not handwritten), and my scores of paper notes (handwritten but handy to no one else), plus the ability to handwrite creative pieces and not have to type them up online. Thanks again though!
