I have decent bone phones that are water resistant and I'm mostly keeping my head above water for now. I'm going to test the range on the Bluetooth for my phone soon, but if there's something that can come in the water with me that'd be great

Recommendation for the waterproof MP3 player? I've just gotten back to the pool.

Exactly. I find showing confusion and concern also takes any aggression out of the moment that you'd otherwise escalate by reacting with anger. They go from being angry/douchey/smug to '... What? What's wrong with my car... What???' and you just go on your merry way.

If you want to see David Wenham's finest performance, watch the movie 'Gettin' Square'.

There's a few other notable Aussie names, and the movie is okay, but his Johnny Spietiri scenes steal the show. Endlessly quotable Australian bogan antics. You can look up the scenes alone on YouTube, but it's funniest to watch in context.

I know the Australian Public Service issues specific leave for firies; I imagine the state and territory governments do similar

I'm a tiny woman who isn't starting road rage, so what I do is just make the other person concerned. I've done this as a pedestrian and a driver.

It's really easy, as a pedestrian walking past, pause slightly and drop your eyes to their front grill, tilt your head slightly and grimace. If in the car, point and sit up in your seat like you're trying to get a better view of their car and do the same face. Look alarmed even.

I've seen multiple drivers pull over to check out their cars. At the very least it makes them take time out of their day for no reason - and inconveniencing dickheads is always fun - but given we're in Australia, their imagination can take them to all kinds of places. What did she see? Is it still there? Is it in my car now?????

Hey, condolences to you and yours. It's a very weird time after someone has passed after a prolonged illness, and even when they're elderly and had a good run. The grief happens as it's happening, but just afterwards is sheer exhaustion. You see your family at their best and worst, and you use up all your emotional resources. Make sure you take care of yourself in the mix x

Nah, if it became a thing here there would be no tipping. We don't have that silly aspect associated with low income jobs here. Although you sound awfully angry at people on low income in your country?

I just spent half an hour trying to find a park, getting late for a desperately needed physio appointment, ended up parking illegally a mile away. Would've loved to hand my keys to someone at the door, but I don't think even the yanks have extended valet parking to all businesses.

Ticketing inspector didn't nab me so I'm notching it up as a win - but my knees could've done with out the extra leg work...

I'd happily hand my keys to a random, they're probably better at parking than I am...

Mm dunno if you ever read the qanon casualties posts on Reddit. There's no discussing or reasoning with the people who have fallen prey to believing this shit. And if often leads to financial ruin. Blocking access to those sites is, for many, like taking the car keys away from an elderly parent who will only hurt themselves and others if you don't intervene.

Must have been quite the cavity for them both to run through there
