Nothing to do with navigation, it's about recommendations. Inspiration.

Yes, a juvenile, lots oft golden hair still, no white collar yet etc. But i saw it flying a bit, hope it made it back onto its tree, not onto the road.

Pigeons are starting to molt now, they're going to look extra scruffy soon.

Yeah, not sure why that is, but they remind me of my childhood too. I heard their coo all my life, but somehow it reminds me of walking to school as a child.

Ah. Yeah, heaven it is then.

Are you sure it is silent? That seems a bit odd, but i don't know mourning doves. Are they still sitting on the chicks?

I just know from feral pigeons, that they coo a lot at their chicks, but maybe they do some silent vibrating / cooing while they are still sitting on their chicks non stop, at least they are all silent then, the cooing only comes later when the parents leave the nest for a while. I have never seen them react to music really either.

Do you already know what type of software you'd wanna use for the blog? Some kind of federated blog i assume? I am playing around with wordpress again, i think it's pretty good for a non-techie person like me, i like it.

The gamify / social aspect i am personally also not interested in, but the "tracks issue" :)

For example the torino-nice-rallye route is hosted there. Lots of other tracks too that i have been interested in, researching potential routes. Now if i am interested in the track for reference, but don't want to sign up, i'd have to trace the track. They are not necessarily marked routes on OSM.

I had never even heard of Komoot!

That is crazy, in my bubble seems like almost everybody's using it, they were sponsoring so many events, podcasts what have you. Komoot everywhere, so annoying (since you can't get to "usable" tracks unless you sign up). RWGPS seems to have made tracks non downloadable for "strangers" now too recently.

Yeah i also do it only locally, although i got to say this wanderer.to thing looks pretty interesting. There is an instance on tchncs.de, i'm thinking about signing up there, just to have a look. Would be cool if that was also compatible with wordpress or ghost, to add the tracks from a blog into the wanderer sphere, maybe it is already possible, i don't know.

Komoot has always rubbed me the wrong way with its aggressive marketing tbh.

I reckon most people lurking here browse BP anyway, really only posting this because i was surprised to see somebody in the comments giving a shoutout to this community! 😊

It was just cheese and sauce, that is also what I saw in the restaurants there. Pizza wurstel seems to be it's own Italian classic 😁

Just the amount of self reflection i'd expect from you. You are a toxic bully yourself.

Photo is six days old already, they are now done now with their strict shifts, the chicks have enough feathers to not get cold and are too big to sit on really.

It cracked me up when Martha still had her shift and heard me in the kitchen, how she sometimes came walking to the balcony door for a snack, looking super dozy.

Had seen it sit on the roof opposite me for a good week, Alfie was still feeding it to my surprise, at least up until two days ago or so.

What a couple. Shitting on the balcony railing.

When i first saw Alfie, one and a half years ago on my balcony i thought he must be real old or sick. He was sitting in a flower pot and seemed completely unimpressed that i was standing right next to him. Just doing a lazy warning call, which i did not even recognize back then. Well i guess he is actually quite old, but such a chill dude.

And Maria always used to be my favorite pigeon, she just has such a funny and lovely character. I didn't know for a long time that they were actually a couple, i thought that was so cool when i found out.

In the last weak i saw Maria getting on top of him to mate, haha. But also the other way around. Never seen that before with other couples.

Somebody feeds them bread there. Love seeing them just chill.
