Everybody is the victim of America sucking at this point. I don't think (hope?) the intention of the video is to mock the victims, but to accurately illustrate just how excited the rest of the world is about the potential prospect of becoming American, and how jealous we are of their cultural superiority.
That said, I agree it's not exactly in great taste.
I have a pretty new Bosch that runs on the grid, love it. It's extremely silent unless I turn it up to the max, in which case it's crazy powerful.

Think tanks are the worst. They are pretending to do research and are sometimes taken seriously by the media and those who don't know better, but their research and findings are ordered by their funding bodies. None of that shit is worth the paper it's written on. If research is not independent it's not research at all.
You shouldn't need a long analysis that picks apart public statements and interprets them in a specific context to conclude that they probably didn't mean it the way it is obviously interpreted by anyone reading it.
It's not hard to be outspoken against fascism. Proton likes to forward themselves as visionaries, yet they completely fail to. Maybe they privately think Trump is an idiot, but I don't care. Resistance needs to be public in order to exist at all, especially when coming from actors like Proton.
Praising tweets by Trump wis sucking up to fascists. Had this tweet been contextualized with a long history of effective public opposition to the Trump regime I would have been willing to accept contextualization. It is not.
TLDR: my conclusion is that it is far more likely that Proton and its CEO are actually liberals.

The lead developer celebrated Charlie Kirk and whined about how white men are discriminated against in tech. Comes in addition to some earlier comments indicating he has fragile white man views on gender as well.
The emphasis on "intimidate and coerce a civilian population" is interesting. Seems to imply billionaires are not considered part of the civilian population. As they shouldn't be.
