tech companies are trying to move away from two factor authentication, at least of the time-based one-time password variety, because they are annoying and don't really work that well. Passkeys and email-based login seem like newer better alternatives. But it takes time to develop the software infrastructure and best practices to make it easy for companies to use.

That's a thing in a lot of newer cars. Contains various sensors like the "is the windshield wet" sensor, daylight sensor, and so on. I guess from googling it seems like the main thing is a collision detection (prevention?) sensor? Maybe LIDAR or something?

There's always room for that type of person. Although I suppose I don't know whether that was a thing back then or if they were actually so misogynistic that they wouldn't let women write in newspapers.
