Why “fuck the UN” and not “fuck China?”

Sounds like the UN could have made better choices, but the real villain (at least in the part of the history you describe) is China. No?

She was a talented editor, and SW and RoTJ are the better for her work. But I think her real contributions during this time was reining Lucas in. He seems to do better with a moderating influence, at least in filmmaking.

I think we are all better for having George Lucas. We wouldn’t have Pixar, ILM, or LucasArts without him. OG Star Wars and American Graffiti were legitimately good. Every other film he did was garbage, however.

I’ve had the same problem with getting Actual set up.

I saw a billboard (in California) for a gofundme for Texas disaster relief. That feels peak 2025 to me.

The number one thing that makes this app potentially effective is reach. You don’t build a userbase big enough to be worthwhile with a side loaded android app, certainly not in a short period of time.

You might know that John C. Fremont named the “Golden Gate” (the strait that connects San Francisco Bay with the Pacific Ocean across which the Golden Gate Bridge now spans), but you might not know that he did so well before the discovery of gold that started the gold rush.

Would’ve taken less time than commenting to go to bestbuy.com to see that indeed first purchase is currently giving 15% back.
