It helps when the car is going real fast so you don't even have time to hear it or for people who don't want/can't look behind them to know if there is a car when they turn left.

With a radar you are never surprised so it can help some people to feel safe.

I don't think it changes how you react but how you anticipate.

Even then I don't have a radar on my bike. It's too expensive for my use case right now.

These radar lights usually do two things. They flash rapidly if a car comes too close to the cyclist and they also enable your head unit to display an indication of how far away the car behind you is.

So you kinda need a head unit to make the best use of your 100$+ light.

I've seen cyclists use it to know when they will be overtaken. They all like it but I've seen it only among cyclists who cycle as a sport.

Thank you so much for such a detailed answer. I definitely learnt something today

Very interesting, thank you! In terms of percentage, I understand that the Republic could raise a large part of its population compared to the Empire but do you have info in terms of absolute numbers? Do we know for example the largest single battle loss during the Republic and during the Empire?

Losing 40 thousand men during the mid-Republic which had approx. 300 thousand free male citizens at the time (I think?) sounds like it could crush the country. But it is "only" 13% of the male population. As you said it could go up to 20%.

Large scale war is devastating. Glad to be in a peaceful country (for now).

Thanks for the explanation but I would have guessed that the Imperial army had more men since it covered way more territory than the Republic. Then losing men in the Republican army would be worse. Can you explain?

You might be surprised by LHOOQ by Marcel Duchamp then:

Nice build. We use a lot of aluminium profiles at work for prototyping. We also have a mitre saw ;)

You can also have polycarbonate panels made for cheap to have a more finished appearance at the cost of ventilation and ease of access.

If you want to discover some even more obscure UNIX, SDF is having its Plan9 boot camp this Sunday. You can register now to get an access to their public access Plan9 machine at sdf.org/plan9

Nice! Gemtext and gemini in general is a really cool playground. I also learnt awk to do my gem2web script and all this lead me to web hosting. Very nice technology.
