then your job isn't just emails, it's the independent research and knowledge/experience.

But yeah, your job has to be basically pure bullshit for this to work.

yes!

I don't even have the guts to come out to my family yet, but that's the goal. Zero fucks given, I just want to feel good about myself and in my own body, I don't want to adopt someone else's hangups about hair just because society says any femme should be hairless

the sad part is it might have survived relatively unscathed if he'd just gone slow (also if it wasn't fucking shaped like a brick), but that wouldn't match the fake image of an ubercar that can just power through anything without breaking a sweat. Fascist ass vehicle for a fascist-ass man.

oh I love them but mostly their older stuff. I gotta check out the new one

Just tell me you're going to give me an ad and ask me to watch it so it'll help your views/algorithm.

The reason they don't do this is because it doesn't work. Nobody wants to watch an ad

I agree they could just no-effort it or something, I prefer the ones that are blunt, or a little surreal in a way that clearly tips off they don't want you to buy the schlock, but best is just not seeing them. Ultimately they've gotta make a living and that's the way youtubers do it, and having good metrics helps spread their message in addition to helping with sponsors, so idk. Just as much as they as a creator could simply not do embedded sponsorships or do them in a way you like, you could also just not watch content that does that, or use sponsorblock or smth. Either way its an individual solution

Anyone have any nice small notebooks they like that aren't moleskine? I bought a moleskine at the store because I filled up my previous notebook and was flabbergasted at the price at the register (wasn't marked on the shelf). Well over $20. I had just finally filled an old tiny notebook so I needed one but not doing that again

what browser/OS? rough idea of what hardware? is the connection actually consistently 24?

I'm out and about on a connection that tests at 16/6 mbps down/up, and the page loads muuuuuch faster than that, 2-5 seconds depending on how you measure, even with caching disabled. But I am on a relatively speedy linux laptop running firefox. So it's more likely the webapp using too much resources, or all the image loads clogging things up, than the pure speed of your connection.

It definitely could use work to run faster, but your experience is abnormal. Maybe try an alternative frontend? https://diethex.net/ was developed by an amazing comrade here, but there are other frontends and mobile apps you could potentially use that actually allow you to sign in and participate as well

The reasons it's slow are many. Reddit isn't just sitting on a computer somewhere in langley, it's an interconnected web of many many servers all doing different things, and other company's servers distributed into local datacenters all over the world caching their content so you can load it that much faster from the one nearest to you instead of going roundtrip to langley and back. Hexbear has none of that, though does appear to have multiple servers for things like cytube, etc. It's also running much less mature/optimized software frankly, and the javascript frontend/UI isn't particularly speedy because of some design decisions as well.

CW trans subreddits being transphobicdead-dove-1

Went on r/transtimelines (or whatever it's called), this morning looking for people, idk, that resemble me, didn't really find any but it was still kinda inspiring until...

dead-dove-2

I scrolled down in the comments on someone asking a question about how estrogen affects facial hair growth, if they could keep their beard on estrogen basically, and there was this whole chain of 4chan-vibes posting being like "if people like you wouldn't keep acting like this, growing a beard just to be quirky and different, then there wouldn't be man in a dress tropes"

dead-dove-3

It was downvoted a little, but it was multiple people, seemingly trans people, talking like this from slightly different angles. I've thought about keeping some amount of facial hair when I transition, ngl this stung even though I know exactly how self defeating and hateful and shitty the people saying it are and that they're wrong
