I mean, that's cool - but it's still on the front page today

They 100% did

Don't get me wrong, there's plenty to gripe about with apple, just like every tech company, but I swear half the complaints I hear about Apple products on lemmy are either outdated or just plain wrong

For some reason the anti-Apple circle jerk is supercharged on Lemmy. I'll never understand why people get themselves so worked up over a brand they never have to do business with

So, what? We're just straight up making shit up about Mac now when trashing it on Lemmy?

Its literally been over a decade since the last time Apple charged for an OS update

Even if this were true for most Americans, I think it's a pretty low bar for a former president.

feels a bit like cheating given that the man in the picture is clearly being presented as a server, not a consumer

The only game I've ever 100%d was Spiderman, and mainly because

A) they make it dead simple to do so, with an in-game checklist

B) it's just a damn fun game so that it didn't actually feel like a chore

Also, it wouldn't really look nice - a typical stainless steel dishwasher looks clean - a microwave and oven (hopefully) look clean and tidy through the window. But a windowed dishwasher? Half full of dirty dishes for most of the day, and even when the dishes are clean they won't look neater than a plain stainless steel finish (or whatever finish you prefer)

I spent a good while trying to figure out what the joke was behind the capital words lol

I disagree - the thing that got him his initial fortune was PayPal, and frankly that was mostly luck and good timing.

Everything we've heard from actual employees at the places hes owned paints a very clear picture that they succeed in spite of him, not because of him.

The two things he's good at are

  1. Identifying potentially successful companies early on, so he can get in early and pretend he invented it - which is admitedly a valuable talent, but only in a zero-value capitalist sort of way

  2. Marketing himself - though it's increasingly clear that this talent was short lived, and most have seen behind the curtain at this point. The people who like him today mostly just like him because he's saying the shit they want to hear, even the conservatives I know no longer think he's some tech genius

Everything else has just been luck and timing. If I go out and buy a lottery ticket tomorrow and will a billion dollars, I'm not good at buying lottery tickets

I can't believe you're still acting like you have moral superiority here lol

"OK, fine - I made up my whole argument, but you're probably lying too! Afterall, it's what I'd do!"

I mean jeez, if you're going to lie through your teeth about something to try and support some made up point, at least take the 5 seconds to do find out what it is you're lying about

Edit: lol, he blocked me - what a tool

People aren't downvoting you because they disagree with your lifestyle, but your comment is like going into a thread about veganism and saying "fuck yall I'm gonna eat a cheese burger every day until I die". A valid personal decision, but not really relavent to the conversation unless you just wanted everyone to know you're different
