Yeah my favorite things to print are things that require intricate assembly - after the wave of novelty it gets boring to just hit print and pull finished products off the printer

What exactly would a new Mario kart even get you? Each one is more or less the exact same game with a few new tracks - personally I prefer getting so many new tracks on 8 vs a new title

we want to burn off excess energy.

A step further even, a lot of us need to burn off excess energy, because we're so well off (evolutionarily speaking) that we practically can't help but take in more energy than we burn naturally

That figure is based off of a recent internal valuation that was made public because it kind of had to be, because Twitter now pays employees partly in equity (I'd rather take monopoly money, but I digress lol).

So basically that's the number Elon himself admits the company is worth today - some people say less, but honestly it's impossible to pin an exact number on these things unless someone is actually offering to buy it (or if it's public and you can just look at the market cap)

Don't expect much lol, when I pointed out that this was inevitable the most common response was "who cares?"

Privacy is dead mainly because your average person doesn't actually care about it

Yeah, let's be honest - your average manual car driver chose that transmission for one reason - fun. And there's really no reason it wouldn't apply here. Manual transmissions have been "pointless" from a purely practical view for years, especially with autostick being a thing. But people like them because they're fun to drive, and some people like being more involved with their driving experience.

Tldr; let people have their fun, it's not like this is ever going to be standard - you'll never be forced to buy one lol

Yeah he's skipping over the fact that windows 10 was when windows really started to be aggressive about advertising and anti-privacy measures. I agree that it's UX was pretty good, but it had big issues on other fronts

That is a fucking awful suggestion for someone who just switched from windows lol. And I say that as someone who uses Arch (btw) as a daily driver

Arch is great for power users and hobbyists, but I can't think of a quicker way to turn a casual user off Linux lol. Ubuntu wouldn't necessarily have been my first choice either, but it's a perfectly serviceable windows replacement

Also yes - but frankly we're not in the position to just try one thing at a time, we're very much at the point where we need to do anything and everything we can - trees are practical for areas with lots of space, but for areas where space is a premium tech like this could work better once it matures

I don't give much benefit of the doubt to someone who cares enough about an issue to refute claims of a high profile figure being a pedophile, but doesn't care enough about truth to out even a tiny sliver of effort into looking into the issue yourself.

[–] bitsplease@lemmy.ml 8 points 2 years ago

It really wasn't, which begs the question of why you couldn't take the couple of seconds to do it yourself? You care enough to contradict the claim, but not enough to click more than once to get the proof? And you wonder why everyone in this thread has such a low opinion of you lol

Yeah if you have a costume on, that's all I need to know

If you don't have a costume, I'll use the special bowl of candy full of Almond Joy's..
