Oh, I noticed this too. I wound up just using Samsung Internet to install as a PWA. It's not like I need uBlock Origin on lemmy.

Strange, I see all the posts browsing the community on both lem.monster and (logged out) on SJW. Maybe it's a UI bug, because it sounds like it's filtering when you expect it not to.

Are you filtered top Top 6 Hours?

I no longer have any idea what "tankie" means. It seems to mean anything from a specific kind of Stalin worshiper to any kind of socialist who sees value in state power. Or people who don't hate China, or are skeptical of certain US state department narratives.

Are there countries where propaganda is less important? I wouldn't think so.

It's hard to imagine a practical reason to do so. This, however, has not been a good heuristic for determining what a CEO having a temper tantrum will do, so who the hell knows.

I've yet to see any of them start posting. On my instance none of them could pass email validation because the emails were fake. I imagine this is true for many instances with a ton of bot sign-ups.

I think just reporting sign-ups as "users" is misleading. The user count on lemmy should reflect only approved/activated accounts, imo.

Not on this VPS, no, but there's headroom for that I think. I host mastodon elsewhere and the biggest problem with that is disk space really.

But you can host both on a single server, yes, but you'll need some kind of reverse proxy.

Seriously, I'm not sure I have a great answer for this. I'm using a digitalocean droplet (a VPS) with 4 CPUs and 8 GB of RAM and it's... fine? If I get more than about 1000 active users I'll switch to some kind of dedicated server. Doesn't seem likely to happen soon.

This is like, literally deep.
