If this is a compromise to get states on-board (so they can keep their national armies), I'd consider it a promising start.

I remember Virgil van Dijk defending going to Qatar saying something along the line of that there are only a few chances in his career to play at such a tournament. So he allowed himself to neglect all moral questions on selfish reasons.

Later when asked why he wouldn't wear the One World-band is that if he was awarded a yellow card he could risk a game and he couldn't let his team down and claimed that would've been selfish.

Ah well... pedalling 😅

More like a moped, since it doesn't require ~~paddeling~~ pedalling.

No worries, I get it and understand it is not 'my music' but I can't imagine that the database of songs I liked is much burden on their server. Either way, the point was the threathening messaging they use.

I have used Hezel for a while now to backup and Soundiiz to transfer to Qobuz. I am not too fussed about it either if I were to lose it. It is just sad to see some megacorp going so low as to use these threathening tactics.

Qobuz is definitely not as a refined app as Apple Music. I will stick with them as they have announced some improvements to the app, and hopefully they will increase their team going forward.

For what it's worth, I have been making occasional backups with Hezel. Now I just moved to Qobuz, which provides Sondiiz. I believe the latter can also be used for other services.

I already transferred to Qobuz, but feels weird that they threaten people leaving with losing their libraries.

This would suck for people who only wish to temporarily cancel.

So far I am not aware of a single browser with a different engine, unfortunately.

Firefox have stated that for the time it would not be viable to develop to browsers with different engines for iOS at the moment. I start to feel that by the time Apple allows for a global role out, I have moved to GrapheneOS or something (just holding on to my mini for as long as possible).

Mark: not very usable yet.

In some countries (all EU under GDPR?), private CCTVs, including smart doorbells, are prohibited from filming beyond the private property.

I guess that in many countries it is not a priority for the police and that, unless reported, little is being done to enforce that rule.

Surprised Montblanc (DE) has not been mentioned (Owned by Richemont in HR). It is known for its luxury pens and the 'snow capped' pen cap.

On Lemmy I mainly used scaled in the subscription list and enjoyed that quite a bit. In Piefed it quickly shows me posts from many months ago and just seems useless. Is there something I can do to 'tune' this or does it work differently than lemmy?
