I’m just getting into private trackers and made an HD-TORRENTS account yesterday via an open invite. Seeding is impossible. I’ve downloaded 7 files. And there is only one seeder on one file. There are no free leech files I can find and all the files I look at only have max 2 leeches.

How am I meant to get a good ratio, I’ve already been issued a warning and I don’t want to get booted. Help?

I downloaded the first 10 seasons of the Doctor Who revival at 1080p as mp4 files that were encoded with 8-bit color depth. Then I found the series in mkv files with 10-bit color depth also at 1080p, which suggests that they are better. But these files are smaller in size and have a lower bitrate.

I used mediainfo to get the general info of one of the 2009 specials for comparison. Which of these should I go for? I'm new to comparing videos like this, sorry if it's a simple question.

I've tried comparing the actual videos, but I've done it so many times I'm not sure if the differences are just in my head. All I can tell is that the mkv one has more vivid colors, but I don't mind sacrificing that for better visual quality.

SGX enclaves are private areas of memory that essentially act as a secure black box and not even the operators of the service can see what’s happening inside.

But interestingly, "A pivot by Intel in 2021 resulted in the deprecation of SGX from the 11th and 12th generation Intel Core processors, but development continues on Intel Xeon for cloud and enterprise use". (suggesting Intel is keeping SGX on servers)

Has Mullvad ever considered using SGX? Or future plans to use it? Only asking 'cause it's been touted as a great feature for VPN.

Been using Mullvad for years, generally happy with the experience. I've had the odd captcha pop up on random websites (including Google) now and then, but since a month or so, they have increased dramatically. Is there anything I can do?

I have tried multiple different VPN servers, but haven't found one that doesn't keep causing captchas.

Hello! This is my first post, so apologies if I’ve missed any important details.

I’m currently using a Beelink SER8 Mini PC running Arch Linux (my preferred distro) as my NAS. Right now, I have five external 1TB drives connected via two USB-C hubs. While this setup technically works, it's not very power efficient — the hubs often struggle to provide enough power, and overall it’s become a bit of a mess to manage.

I briefly considered upgrading to a wall-powered USB-C hub to keep the current drives, but at this point, I’d rather just increase the overall storage capacity and clean up the setup.

What I’m looking at now is the ORICO 5-Bay Daisy Chain Hard Drive Enclosure. These enclosures support daisy chaining, so I could potentially connect up to three of them for a total of 15 bays. With 22TB drives, that would give me up to 330TB of storage, all still connected to the same Mini PC.

The NAS is running a number of Docker containers, including Jellyfin, FreshRSS, PhotoPrism, Syncthing, Linkwarden, Kavita, and Yamtrack.

My main question is about drive noise. I’m fairly sensitive to sound, so I’m trying to find the quietest 22TB hard drives that would work well in this kind of enclosure. I’ve read that it’s best to use the same model across all bays for reliability, so I’m planning to stick with a single model once I decide.

Any recommendations or advice would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!
