While using Transmission QT (Client), I kept getting this error message though I've downloaded several torrented games previously, so I'm not sure why this happens? Why now, and what causes it? I downloaded the torrent file from 1337 and I've done this before, and no error was received. I changed which torrents I downloaded (source) for the same file, and it doesn't seem to fix this problem. I would appreciate any help anyone could provide me with.

(Hypothetical Situation)Me and my friends only casually torrent for movies/shows and we use Pirate Bay/1337.x usually with utorrent, but recently I was trying to download a movie for us to watch(The Damned 2024)and I couldn't find it on those two. I just looked it up on google to try to find a torrent for it and I saw a website called finduzzcatcafe.se which showed me a magnet link download for the movie. It looked kinda shady because when I looked up the website separately apparently it was for a Swedish cat cafe that had nothing to do with torrents but my friend said it was fine so I just downloaded it. After transterring to a flash drive and connecting it to a tv the file didn't even play, and then a couple hours later I was just on the YouTube main recommended page and some weird audio was playing in the background with scary music and dialogue, like some movie or something. It only stopped after unplugging the tv. My friend thinks it's fine probably just an issue on the tvs end but I'm worried I got malware in which case my laptop and the tv could be in danger. I disconnected the flash drive and turned off WiFi on my laptop and I'm not sure what to do now or if I should worry or not. I haven't had experience with malware in the past even with torrents so I'm not sure now. Could anyone give me some advice?

I recently discovered web ui in qbittorrent. Set it up using port 8080 and its working great. Im able to start downloads using qbittorrent controller. But i remembered today that I had set up a port foward using eddie air VPN on my PC and bound the VPN to my client. Im having no issues but I'm worried I might have done something wrong.

Should I be using the same port with web ui?

If i use port 8080 on web ui and the port from eddie air on my PC will there be issues?

Could I use the vpn port on web ui?

I was downloading a file with Qbittorrent and accidently opened it with VLC player while it was still downloading. Did I damage the file?

I've been torrenting for a few years and am pretty technically knowledgeable. I would love to take on the challenge of ripping content. How would I go about finding what content people want that isn't available through torrenting?

Looking at its movies I've seen some really interesting ones, but reading old reddit posts I've noticed some people seem to not recommend it because of shitty things they have done in the past. I live in a country without antipiracy laws so I've never needed a VPN for torrenting. Is YTS a good option? I don't care about image quality that much.

hi, im having problems with windows11 and qbittorrent. it freez, reset, etc. sorry english is not my first language. i have done all i know. im thinking why not going with linux but dont have experience and theres a lot of different ones. is there a better one for using qbitorrent or similar aplication? thanks!

I've been pirating for a while now and just changed to qbittorrent and it says it's only downloading and not uploading? Is that normal?

does that mean my torrent client has to be open and seeding atleast once a day for 10 days after downloading before i can stop seeding?

or does it mean i need to have my PC on and my torrent client open 'available' to be seeding for over 240 hours?
