So you dislike that the people selling LLMs are hyping up their product? They know they’re all dumb and hallucinate, their business model is enough people thinking it’s useful that someone pays them to host it. If the hype dies Sam Altman is back in a closet office at Microsoft, so he hypes it up.

I actually don’t use any LLMs, I haven’t found any smart ones. Text to image and image to image models are incredible though, and I understand how they work a lot more.

I’m not anti AI, but I wish the people who are would describe what they are upset about a bit more eloquently, and decipherable. The environmental impact I completely agree with. Making every google search run a half cooked beta LLM isn’t the best use of the worlds resources. But every time someone gets on their soapbox in the comments it’s like they don’t even know the first thing about the math behind it. Like just figure out what you’re mad about before you start an argument. It comes across as childish to me

When you make a vehicle that can’t survive 6 months in the real world, you need this many replacements for your warranties, but given all the water issues, I’m surprised their insurance lets them park em outside in the rain.

Sit down, shut up. Jason Bateman, will forte, and will arnette are high school teachers. It lasted one season with fox giving it random timeslots.

That’s great ODOT put out a psa not to do this. Could they put one out about people swerving into the exit lane way after the exit.

It’s the exact opposite of trapped but what about something like this old comic

Where the princess is in cahoots with the dragon. Maybe there are evil knights coming to marry her, and she needs to create a path for Prince Charming.

Between 1976 and 2015, an astonishing 80 percent of the state’s capital sentences were later reversed—nine people have been exonerated off death row in the time that Duncan has been there.

The state pushes the death penalty willy nilly, and 80 percent of them get overturned. Discredited pseudoscientists make up a story to ruin this guys life. A democrat governor signed a law to allow prisoners more ability to present evidence and overturn convictions. Lets see what the republicans have to say:

Landry, the Republican governor who has pushed hard to make state laws more punitive since he took office in early 2024, has derided the 2021 law that created the factual innocence statute as a “woke, hug-a-thug policy,” arguing that it gave too much discretion to DAs to let prisoners go free. In a blog post about the law written while he was running for governor in 2023, he opined: “once a verdict has been finalized, there are no more ‘get out of jail free’ cards.”
