It's similar to the main contradiction in fascism, which is that the enemy is both all-powerful and weak in comparison to the main group in question.

The logic here is that according to them there was widespread rigging, but Trump "just" managed to win because he's that popular.

That's the issue with the government's monopoly on violence here. It's okay if they bring their guns to terrorize people, but it's not okay for ordinary people to protect others.
