AI is actually useful.

The metaverse and NFTs aren't.

Your analogy is not a 1:1 representation of the situation and only serves to distract from the topic at hand.

Do people really not understand that we are in the early stages of ai development?

Yes. Top post in this thread is someone cheering that AI won't replace people in hollywood.

Just give it time. Remember how poor voice recognition and translation software was at first?

Hm. I think you should zoom out a bit and try to recognize that AI isn't stagnant.

Voice recognition and translation programs to years before they were appropriate for real-world applications. AI is also going to require years before it's ready. But that time is coming. We haven't reached a 'ceiling' for AI's capabilities.

I think we should get rid of all SMS/phone services and just use data.

So glad zionists don't control the narrative this time.

It seems like the internet is doing it's job, for once.

It's not really a business 'need' unless you consider milking customers for everything they've got.

Youtube has been profitable for years. It is profitable right now.

Youtube wouldn't have been popular if it was a paid service.

Also, they didn't 'mess' anything up. The service has been profitable for years.

This is just an attempt to make more profit off of people's ever-plummeting standards.

Just see how many people in here are trying to justify spending more on an already-profitable product. They're literally just padding the pockets of executives and investors, lol.

Ahh well. A fool and his money are soon parted.

Every day I am reminded of how many people believe they are owed everything for free.

Not really. Youtube is already profitable. They're trying to test if people's standards are low enough for them to make even more profit.

The fact you think this equates to 'owed everything for free' just shows me what a proud rube you are.

You're just making them more profit.

Sure. They would have to do that though and also ensure those in Gaza have the means to evacuate.

[–] atetulo@lemm.ee 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Weird.

I haven't been paying for it since inception, nor do I watch its ads.

Yet it's been incredibly profitable for years.

What's funny about this is all of this pretty much comes naturally when you're doing something you don't want to do without a reason to do it.
