Given our stance it's probably for the best this time.

Their moderation approach is a big part of why it's a great place to search for answers.

The single best thing people can do to end tipping culture is to just stop tipping.

Vote for social safety nets or make donations to care for those who will be harmed by this.

But right now it's people like you that are perpetuating tipping culture.

And yes, I am an asshole - but it's not solely because of my stance on tipping.

So one of his examples is that he bought stolen goods and when they were returned to the original owner he felt he deserved them as well? If he didn't submit a charge back he's complicit in supporting this fraud. The vendor should have offered to sell him a copy for the price he paid to the scammer instead.

I tried Jellyfin out on my most recent build - don't think it's quite as good as Plex so far. Still using it though - I think either is perfectly fine for a simple home media server.

Yeah, I'm okay with discouraging abbreviations. But a blanket ban is silly.

Comments on a post about a New York Times article regarding the United States should probably be fine to use NYT & US.

Comments talking about the best computer role playing game going on and on about PoE2 deserve a ban however.

Good luck getting getting them to pay for a trans operation.

Cool. Not at all what I was arguing - too hard to see from up on your high horse?

I was hugely impressed by how well Caves of Qud handles controller support. Definitely worth a look if you're interested in how these types of games can maintain access to so many different functions.

Speaking as someone who has been subjected to slurs and violence for who and what I am - why should simple exposure to slurs be where we draw the line? For me it was almost always about the hatred behind them; discussions about someone else's hate for me are going to hit the same whether the words are printed or not.

I don't think the word should have been censored here - either print it or drop the quote.

Nor do I think a report critical of someone using slurs is normalizing the use of them by quoting them. This isn't the casual use of slurs in everyday language as a synonym for bad.

Servers make the same federal minimum everyone else does, their employer just gets to claim ~$5.50 an hour from tips in order to pay it. More in states with a higher minimum.

If no one tips the employer has to pay the full minimum wage themselves, not just $2.

Quite liking it so far, though it's a bit like stepping back 20 years with the fiddling to get some games working. Next step will probably be ditching the Nvidia card for something else.
