On Monday, Louisiana's state legislature passed a bill to do the same, and it now awaits signing by the governor. The other states that have considered or are considering such bills include: Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Maine, Minnesota, Mississippi, New Hampshire, North Carolina, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and West Virginia.
I think the bigger problem is that there are at least 50 trays of tomatoes there and it'll take a bunch of kitchen space and time to process all of them, all of which has to be done on next-to-no notice. It'll also take a lot of time and supplies to can them all - though at least whatever they have the time and space to process will be shelf-stable in the end.
I've tried the foam earplugs from a drugstore/chemist's. They're extremely difficult to put in properly
Take the earplug and roll it between your fingers until it's a smaller size that goes in easily. Take your other hand and grab your earlobe toward the back and bottom. Pull your lobe backward and away from your head; that straightens and opens your ear canal. The combination of these two should make it easy to insert the earplugs.
[If you like, you can play around with putting the tip of your finger at the entrance of your ear canal and then pulling the lobe with your other hand, to feel how it changes the entrance to your ear canal.]
and get dirty after a few uses.
Maybe clean your ears? Also, most of the cheap foam earplugs aren't meant to be a long-term solution, they're definitionally disposable.

You're forgetting the male incel epidemic, including the ones who legitimately want the government to issue them a girlfriend. I'm sure some of them feel that the only reason they didn't have a girlfriend is that "their girlfriend" mistakenly believes she's gay or was "taken" by a lesbian. Similar to that guy who was like "I'm sure the reason I don't have a girlfriend is that the one who was destined to be mine got aborted by some 'liberated' woman".
