Not to mention, people have praised many of the same moves that have blown up In Tepper’s face. Just look at the threads in this subreddit when they hired Reich, Thomas Brown, or drafted Bryce Young. From the Thomas Brown thread: - “This is an all star staff” - “Panthers are killing this offseason” - “I’ve loved all of the coaching moves the Panthers have made” - “The difference between Rhule’s staff and Reich’s staff is night and day”

There's always a bunch of "rah rah" and optimism when coaches get hired.

It's not my money, but I think it's foolish to give HCs that kind of money. Maybe coaches should be paid like players: a base amount and the rest in incentives. Also, this team was not a QB and HC away from success, but they threw away their near future for an unproven quantity and got a retread HC. At some point organizations are going to realize giving away draft capital to get a QB with nothing around him to help him win is stupid.

How do you hold them accountable?

By not renewing their contracts, which are year to year. And poorly graded officials don't get playoff assignments.

You're right about these folks being the best, and it took a long time and a lot of effort to get there.

Officials are held accountable. Maybe the author should have contacted the NFL on that subject instead of spending his time puking out this ignorant screed, including the bit about "part time" as if that makes a fucking case.

The only thing close to a valid point was about the horse collar non-call.

This is bottom of the barrel, totally devoid of ethics, and beyond shameful.

It's tough to get into the Hall as a DB, and tough to get in as a Raider. Put the two together...

Bobby Ross was an asshole.

I'll read this someday, when it's free.

This has to be trolling: an article about women in the NFL, and they have Watson's picture under the headline? And, since they didn't bother to mention officiating, there are now three woman officials, and I think Robin DeLorenzo will wind up being the first female white hat.

That statement is the corporate equivalent of "Don't let the door hit you in the ass".

Steve Smith's phone is going to voicemail.
