Even if they were to release a number of games on PlayStation or Nintendo hardware, which we should have better insight into next week, I really believe there's no way they would have exited the console market anytime soon - a Xbox console is the single easiest way to access Game Pass atm and they've made it clear that that's their priority above anything else imo.

Still making my way through FF VII Remake and I'm really enjoying it.
I only played VII a couple years back and it never really "clicked" for me, but Remake is way more up my alley!
- Although not OOTB, I can recommend SaverTuner for that.
I think it's fair to see the Xbox as a Game Pass box in the short to mid-term, yes. Microsoft's efforts have been focused on getting everyone on Game Pass, be it Xbox, PC or Mobile (and they would love for other console manufacturers to have it as well).
They are selling Xbox consoles at a loss and are only recouping money on games and Game Pass subscriptions, now that neither Nintendo nor Sony is onboard with bringing the latter to their ecosystem, might as well port their first-party games to competing platforms to make more money.
Assuming it's nothing to do with your Dreamcast's laser (in which case you might need to adjust it to get it going, but realistically replace it altogether), have you looked into getting the disc itself resurfaced?
If this hasn't been done before, this would likely be the first thing to attempt before considering getting a new copy tbh. Many local game shops still have the machines for it and can do that for very little money.
I just finished TLOU 2 the other day, right before Grounded II released, which I proceeded to watch - that was great to bring me some sort of closure and perspective on the game.
It was definitely one of, if not the, best game(s) I've ever played.
For a bit of a "lighter experience", I managed to borrow Journey from my local library, so I dusted off the ol' PS3 and got it lined up for today.
Next up, FF VII Remake and Intermission, to hopefully be ready for Rebirth by the 29th!
I also completely agree on the Edge, I picked it up for 40% off (Amazon Warehouse Deals) about a year ago and it's been a very worthwhile purchase, but at MSRP it's not worth it IMO.
My money is on more Steam Decks being sold in Japan, thus driving MH up in those lists.
Afaict from their website, pretty much yeah:
Cronus Zen allows you to use any supported controller, mouse, keyboard or racing wheel, to any major gaming console platform, with an advanced scripting engine that allows you to run powerful macros!
First time playing it! I actually only played TLOU (Part I) late last year and figured I might as well wait a few weeks for the Remaster to release by that point.
I got through to the "real" ending of Returnal (but I haven't started Ascension yet) and I'm now a few hours into TLOU II Remastered.
Not happy about digital only, but it also seems to be the only way forward with Xbox, so there you go. $50 USD isn't so bad.
I'm as hyped as ever by what they've shown tbh!
I'm not sure I get your Steam Deck comparison?
