My statement is based on direct experience of janky frame drops between an iPad pro and a MacBook pro sitting next to each other on the couch. I suspected some potential interference issues so I went back to USB and it was buttery smooth again. Might not match your experience but in my environment that's how it went down.

I'm in that Venn diagram but I'm married with kids and the UX of anything but the TV remote and Plex software is a bit much for me to convince the family to learn. And potentially relearn when I find the next great app like jellyfin 😅

I think there's another circle with at least significant overlap between those two of family techies who just can't convince the rest of the family to care.

Definitely worth the money imo. No ads is a weird experience.

If your TV vendor decides to only put 100Mb cards in their TV then unfortunately spikey boy wins and you lose unless you're willing to downrez your AV catalog.

From now on, Xorg drawing primitives can only be straight lines.

I was about to say, I swear I've been reading articles about Android 14 dropping soon, and this is mentioning 12.

Yeah it does, but definitely not as well. I've had much better results with the USB connected directly.

Can't believe you'd dox yourself like that. Now I know which hemisphere you live in.

Can I get updates on this gene daily?

I mean as someone from the US I'm not sure anyone here agrees that we're on a good path (though the right path we may disagree on). I'd wager most countries could say the same.

Maybe once we figure it out at home we can think about what it might mean to salvage another country.

You can plug an iPad to a MacBook via usb c and use it as an external monitor and it works really well in my experience. Kinda makes me wonder if there isn't a patent somewhere preventing it from wider use.
