What are concentrating photovoltaics? One of the ways to increase the output from the photovoltaic systems is to supply concentrated light onto the PV cells. This can be done by using optical light collectors, such as lenses or mirrors. The PV systems that use concentrated light are called concentrating photovoltaics (CPV). The CPV collect light from a larger area and concentrate it to a smaller area solar cell. This is illustrated in Figure 5.1.

More probable that you will get low fps or that your strategy game turns into a crawl if the CPU can't keep up.
I doubt you'll be able to get a new cpu that fits your motherboard socket though, so unless you find one second hand you'll end up replacing the motherboard and your memory too if you try to upgrade.

It depends on how you choose to play it, I guess. For some it's definitely a management game where you go from space port to space port to trade. Others play it as a pirate hunting game where they fight space pirates and sell the loot and that's just the sandbox elements, there's also storylines and missions you can run. :)
