That same problem has happened twice with Solus though - Ikey's abrupt departure being the first.

I hope that this time the structural changes will ensure they sail on a even keel for a good while, but I remain wary.

Does Cinnamon have a way to automatically switch between day/night themes a la Gnome yet?

Solus interests me, but it was pretty much dead for a good while until very recently. I still think it's best to wait another 6-12 months to ensure that they succeed in regularly keeping everything updated before recommending it to people.

Definitely not for a Linux beginner, though.

Obligatory mention of Bandcamp and Qobuz here - buying music outright ensures a much bigger payout for the artists.

Plenty of people do.

That second link is great, thank you. From Twitter I learned that it's much better to follow a few specific journalists rather than the news agencies themselves.

I dunno, it just seems odd that the trending tags would be so focused on what day of the week it is.

This is the first I'm hearing about instance admins having to approve tags, though. That would certainly explain the lack of topical trending hashtags.

Yeah, my guess is there's actually something broken. People can't seriously be talking about what day of the week it is more often than what's actually going on in the world.

Thank you, my point exactly. And it's literally like this every day.
It's weird.

[–] aleph@lemm.ee 2 points 2 years ago

I'm doing that already.

Isn't that a problem for Mastodon, then, since it's far more reliant on hashtags to drive discoverability due to the lack of algorithm?
