Same here, lol. It's been a long time since the NYT was a reliable news source, especially with regards to anything involving the Middle East.

Here's a more recent breakdown.

https://www.cnn.com/us/abortion-access-restrictions-bans-us-dg/index.html

You're right in that many of the states where abortion is banned supposedly allow exceptions when the life of the mother is at risk, but in real terms that often translates to healthcare providers being too scared to carry out the procedure, or leaving it too late, for fear of legal repercussions.

Agreed. Use of space could be better. Or, if you are going to have all that space in the middle, do what Alexandrite does and display post content in a new middle column so that the entire width of the screen is utilized.

In that case, you are well within the majority of Americans. What's odd is why Republicans appear hellbent on pushing extreme religious views into law when much of the country is against it.

*than the less restrictive states in the US.

What sets the US apart is how wildly the laws vary by state, with 10 states currently allowing no exceptions for rape, incest, or life of the mother, i.e total, or near-total, bans.

In contrast, while many countries in Europe limit abortions to a point between 12 and 20 weeks, there are almost always exceptions and circumstances where an abortion can be granted medical approval.

Your experience reminds me of the time I was sailing on the Java Sea. On deck at night, lit by starlight, I could look up and see the Milky Way from horizon to horizon. It was the closest I've ever come to having a transcendent religious experience, like I was in direct connection with the infinite.

Humanity robbed itself of a true treasure if you ask me.

Couldn't agree more. It should be mandatory for all humans to see it at least once.

Depends on your use case, I suppose. I'm generally editing existing images and files, so I had practically forgotten that the picker doesn't generate the image itself. For me, thumbnails work perfectly 99% of the time, but for someone who is constantly working with freshly downloaded files, I can understand that it would be a pain.

People of French persuasion.

Not self hosting - just using the web app.

Ah, I know what you mean.

Yeah, the way it works now I think the file picker relies on Nautilus to generate the thumbnail first, so any new images will use a placeholder instead. Once you've viewed the file in Nautilus once, though, the thumbnail will show up in the picker from then on.

Two volunteer doctors working with Doctors Without Borders were killed by a direct hit from an Israeli airstrike on Al Awda hospital back in November, so that's at least one example.

We already do, though.
