Like any other service, this all is just some kind of prototyping, until the dust settles. I'm sure the devs will come up with some nice UI/,UX improvements.

I was a karma-whore, now that Reddit is dead, I'm just a slut.

When WSL2 first came out, some losers on /g/ were cheering that it would "make Linux obsolete". Four years later, I think it's safe to say they were kinda missing the point. in c/linuxmemes@lemmy.world

If anything, WSL2 made me realize that I didn't need Windows. now, I'm a Linux user for almost 2 years.

I agree on most of your examples, except GIMP... no... just no! Sorry, the software is acceptable at best, and the devs are resistant to UI/UX improvements/suggestions... so again.. nope

@ernest Regarding servers... did you have a look at Hetzner's server auctions. They tend to have 8c/16t servers for 40-50 bucks.

Also, I've seen kbin uses PHP at it's core. Do you consider switching to a golang stack, which is known to be more resource-friendly than PHP.
