i’ve always hated this shit in shows. battlestar galactica did it too.

like… why? i’m already watching the show, you don’t need to tease me anymore.

it was a joke, but thanks for the unsolicited personal advice.

you can’t, that’s just the screenshot taken during the unlock transition. i tried a couple times and wasn’t able to get a shot just of the alarm screen.

no more fumbling around trying to press the snooze button 6 times.

i mean the show would literally not exist without him.

It makes zero sense to bring back extinct species who have zero chance of surviving the current and future environment.

~~I agree that's a horrible idea but I doin't think anyone is actually proposing that.~~

~~For me the question is, is there enough scientific value to be gained by "de-extincting" these ancient creatures to justify keeping them in a controlled environment for study.~~

edit:

never mind, i was wrong.

https://colossal.com/mammoth/

Colossal’s landmark de-extinction project will be the resurrection of the woolly mammoth - or more specifically a cold-resistant elephant with all of the core biological traits of the woolly mammoth. It will walk like a woolly mammoth, look like one, sound like one, but most importantly it will be able to inhabit the same ecosystem previously abandoned by the mammoth’s extinction.

ugh I fucking hated that episode.

BUT I'm glad they have the ability to do wacky new shit, which is what we need more of in TV and even Movies. That specific one just wasn't for me, and that's okay.

disagree.

  • i stopped using most social media, and what little social media I do use now is FOSS like lemmy.

  • I cancelled my youtubeTV subscription and now pirate all my media. Along with this I also stopped watching sports which have been greatly enshittified over my lifetime.

  • I stopped using Plex (enshittifying) and switched to Jellyfin which is FOSS.

these actions have significantly reduced enshittification in my life. Not saying it's possible for everything, but sometimes there absolutely are non-enshittified alternatives.
