Die waren zufaellig an Bord. Fand das aber auch enttaeuschend - ich hatte erwartet dass die Bundeswehr den liegengebliebenen evakuierten Zug gegen irgendeine grosse kriminelle Organisation sichert die damit Bloedsinn machen will.

The problem here is not the source of the applications, but the source of the package build scripts - which in big parts are RedHat property.
RedHat must provide you the sources - but for that it is sufficient to give you the source of whatever is packaged. In the past commercial distributions just fulfilled that requirement by dumping source packages, which have the source as well as the scripts required to build binary packages. They do not have to provide you with the build scripts.
The problem with RedHat is that many companies certify their stuff to work on RedHat - so for that to work without running into the occasional obscure problem you need to build the sources the exact same way as RedHat is doing. That's what CentOS used to do until version 7, and that's what currently some other distributions are doing. Without the build scripts it'll be next to impossible to do that - you'd pretty much have to duplicate the RedHat engineering team. But it is completely legal, as they own the scripts, and since they're completely separate from the application itself don't have to be GPL.

The data deletion is pretty much a nice to have - it's on the level of the Exchange feature to recall Emails: Sure, you can ask nicely, but outside of your own server pretty much nobody will care. Lemmy is federated over multiple jurisdictions, so even with full deletion implemented there'll almost certainly be instances which will ignore the deletion request - and it will be completely legal for them to do so. More important is education about what you publish, and a basic understanding of the technical and legal realities you'll have to deal with if you later decide you want that information gone.

Ich wuerde zwar auch gerne deutlich mehr Integration sehen (mehr in Richtung EU-Regierung, mit den Laendern als Bundesstaaten) - aber da ich als Kind noch vor Schengen gereist bin sehe ich schon was fuer massive Fortschritte wir gemacht haben.

Emojis sind neumodischer Kram. Dazu kommt noch ein persoenlicher Hass als jemand der in der Telefonentwicklung gearbeitet hat als das damals aufkam - da war man gerade froh dass die Software halbwegs komplett Unicode kann und man die ganzen Charsetaltlasten endlich draussen hat, und dass die virtuellen Keyboards halbwegs tun, und dann kommt so ein Spielkram fuer den man das dann alles nochmal neu machen darf.
