I'll murder anyone trying to talk to me before I had my 430ml of strong black tea in the morning. I have two cats and hate dogs. Never been to the UK.

Also hyprland, moved from ion3 about half a year ago.

Do you want screenshots or config? I can't directly publish stuff - I keep my configs in a git repo that started as CVS in the 90s, and contains lots of stuff that shouldn't be public - but can extract individual bits.

edit screenshot with (hopefully) everything sensitive removed. Emacs is in a scratchpad ("special workspace" in hyprland). The desktop where emacs is displaying opens stuff like teams, slack, ...

Hyprlands way of being able to tie desktops to displays and their numbering works better with keeping the same setup across different devices than with ion3 - with the same setup on my notebook I just have one desktop visible at the same time, but I still get to my terminals with Alt-1, my main browser instance with Alt-2, my chat windows with Alt-4.

The small display on the right is a Wacom Cintiq - useful for random overflow stuff when not in use as tablet. I have stuff like IDEs, virt-manager, waydroid show up on workspaces bound to Alt-`, Alt-[ and Alt-] which go to that display.

You nowadays let your colonies do whatever they want?

I think that amount is way too high. Nowadays I could afford it without problems, but a few years back spending some time in hospital would've messed up my budget.

I might be fine with paying for elective procedures - but hospital stays for other reasons should be covered by healthcare.

I have 5 monitors, zero gaps, and fight for every pixel on the eww bar on the one screen I'm showing it.

We do have some steep copayments for some treatments as well. For example, if I had to go to the hospital for a month I'd have to pay about 1000 EUR myself.

If you just read the headline - read the article. From the headline you could assume that it might be some grey area thing - but based on the article "could be seen as abduction" is a very friendly phrase to describe what has happened.

Without them forcing you to go through their server for user authentication it'd be a thing local to your network - where it wouldn't really matter. Without that stupid requirement you also could just keep unsupported clients running by yourself.

The problem is that they want to route control through their own servers for making sure you can't use some of the extra features without paying.

A few years back they dropped some clients (including the one for my old TV) because they were dropping support for legacy SSL ciphers on their servers - and those devices didn't have support for the new ciphers. This is a pretty stupid dependency due to the way they want to do things - so I moved to jellyfin back then, and have been encouraging people to drop plex ever since.

This feature also has the potential of endangering those drivers. If I were a driver I'd definitely not opt in to a function like this.

It's been shown over and over again for the last two decades that you can't build a reliable archive on platforms outside of your control. Stuff like Instagram can be useful for trying to draw traffic to your own platform - but you always should treat those platforms as throwaway content.

My m13 is from 1994, and I have non-trackpoint Model Ms going back to the late 80s, all working perfectly fine.
