Can’t have it equal because babies grow inside women and not man.

We're not biologically equal, and that gives some complications, sure. Which is why we give women 100% of the choice, as it should be, as the choice involves medical procedures on her body. As the quote above says:

Women’s rights advocates have long struggled for motherhood to be a voluntary condition, and not one imposed by nature or culture.

Men should have a similar choice for fatherhood. If a man doesn't want to become a father, he should not be forced to. And this should be independent from the choice of the woman.

For this reasons man can’t abort

Fair.

and for child interest they have at least to pay up.

How is this fair? He has no choice in the matter. If he voluntarily accepts to become a father, sure. But if he doesn't and the woman still chooses to keep the baby, he should be free from obligations to the child. (This is why I tagged this post with #financialservitude.)

But there is also an easy solution, don’t have sex or vasectomy.

Do you hear yourself? This is the same argument Republicans make against abortion. We don't accept that when it comes to women's rights, and we don't accept that when it comes to men's rights.

I just wrote about that here.

If you want a platform with ActivityPub integration (i.e. it's part of the Fediverse), then there are several options:

There's also WordPress, which has a free hosted tier, and can alternatively be set up on your own server. There is an ActivityPub plugin for WordPress, which can be used freely on your own server, or with the paid business plan on wordpress.com.

Another possibility would be to use a Mastodon instance that doesn't limit your character count to 500, such as Aethy (which IIRC has a limit of 1M characters per post).

If I were to start a blog again (and I have considered it), then I would probably use WriteFreely, or alternatively Aethy.

It does not. But it has been flagged, so hopefully it will be fixed at some point in the future.

As far as I'm aware there's no timeline view of all people you follow.

[–] a-man-from-earth@kbin.social 2 points 2 years ago

Yes, that would be a good thing to have.

There is a real dearth of men's activism in the Fediverse. I'm not aware of any similar community out there. There's a MensRights magazine here on Kbin, but it is inactive and has all of two posts. There's also a MensRights community on lemmy.world, but it has no content whatsoever. And there's an intactivism magazine here with all of one post.

I've also found /m/humanrights, but the last post there was in May... And there is /m/AskMen, but also with very low activity.

Then there's the Men's Liberation community on lemmy.ca, but that is entirely subservient to feminism and habitually uses toxic terms such as toxic masculinity and patriarchy. Not something we can recommend.

So yeah, there isn't anything specific to male advocacy (and active) in the Fediverse that I've found, apart from this place.

There are a lot of tech people, especially on Mastodon, and I follow some of them. But Mastodon being a Twitter clone, it centers around following people, and has a way flatter timeline. I much prefer the forum style, and especially the Reddit style, of nested threaded discussions centered on a topic.

Some magazines/communities here that I've found interesting are /m/fediverse, /m/space, /m/linux, and /m/thenetherlands@feddit.nl.

Judges often need to be re-elected

Only in a handful of countries. Most countries appoint their judges. Even in the US not all judges are elected. And IMO it's a really braindead idea to elect judges, as that will inevitably influence how they rule.

I know, and I do appreciate that. I mostly speak out of frustration that our moderation tools are very rudimentary. We simply don't have all the tools we need to do proper content curation.

Kbin has burst onto the scene of the fediverse, and is now a serious player. I think it risks defederation if this issue isn't fixed. It is an attack vector for people with nefarious goals.

I don't understand how developers think this is okay. This needs to be fixed with priority!

I disagree. Gender doesn't become meaningless just because we have difficulties defining it within modern sensibilities. There is something about gender that drives certain people to want to transition, for example, and it's not just about genitalia.

Now if you mean to say that one doesn't have to be a masculine man to still be a man, I agree. Tho it does make certain things (e.g. dating) a lot more difficult when you're an unmasculine man.
