What was it like inventing dirt?

For a central air split system?

Cause that’s what most American homes have.

It doesn’t matter if the refrigerant is banned.

A properly installed system is hermetically sealed. All the refrigerant it will ever need was put in the day it was installed.

I still regularly service 20+ year old R22 systems that are still trucking along just fine. And just because a refrigerant is banned doesn’t mean you cannot get it. I just bought a new tank of R-22 a few weeks ago. It was ridiculously expensive because they don’t make it anymore, but it’s perfectly legal to buy. And there are drop in replacements if a system does get damaged and develops a leak.

A week ago I retrofitted my neighbors R22 unit to 407C because the lawn guys hit the suction line with an edger. Cost my neighbor a thousand dollars to do it, but still cheaper than a new unit. He plans on selling the house in 5 years, so the electricity savings from a new unit don’t interest him, and his current unit is perfectly serviceable.

Most of these companies that say you “need” a new unit, are just out to make a buck. Unless the unit is physically destroyed or you plan to keep the house for 20+ years for the energy savings, there is little reason to get a new unit. Don’t get scammed.

“You can’t expect the old AC to keep working for 25 years”

Bullshit. A properly installed system will outlive the person that installed, easily. Even 25 years ago, the compressors were made so well that most of them are still electrically and mechanically sound.

Therapy for a year through my insurance: 900 dollars out of pocket.

Glock 19 gen 5: 550 dollars out of pocket.

Hmmmmmm, I wonder why this country is so fucked up.

He failed to sell steaks and casinos(yes multiple casinos) to Americans.

You know what Americans fucking love? Steak and the distant chance of becoming rich through no effort.

You know how badly you’d have to mismanage a casino to cause it to go bankrupt? It’s a building where people willing go to get blind drunk and give you money. If you owned a money printer, I don’t know if you could make as much money as a casino can per day.

He’s been a moron for decades. He just used Daddies money to buy his way into pop culture. He’s Paris Hilton but replace the tits and drug use with being a sad loser who couldn’t sell shit to a fly.

1000 dollars in 1960 would be about 11 grand today.

I don’t know about you, but I don’t know if I’d last 6 months on 11 grand. Maybe 3 or 4. Rent alone would nuke over half of that, and I live in a cheap ass place.

We’ve been robbed

.308 is expensive.

You want to know what else is expensive? Body armor.

The marines ran into this issue a while back. A lot of causalities were caused by groin shots. The chest armor they were wearing was fine for stopping 7.62, but they’d get tagged in the pelvis and bleed out anyway.

Now the marines have crotch armor too, but that’s also expensive and uncomfortable to wear.

Just a little tidbit.

Who writes the test?

Who determines the test is at a fifth grade level?

Who will proctor the test?

Where will the test be administered?

When will the test be administered?

Who decides what a passing grade is?

Who grades the test?

Who verifies the grade on the test?

At every step there is an easy way to disenfranchise whatever people you don’t like. For instance: simply make the test only available at noon on the Monday before election. Make it only able to be taken at town hall. Immediately, anyone who works an hourly job will no be effectively disqualified from voting because they can’t take the test.

Now make the exam only available in English. Anyone who cannot speak English is now disqualified.

There are so many ways for literacy tests to go wrong, they’re pretty much only good for excluding people you don’t like from voting. Just let everyone vote and make it a mandatory holiday.
